Place the fl ash upwards whe n shooting imag es in “tall” (portrait ) orientation.
23 Step 2 Frame a Picture Basic Photography and Playback: A uto Mode Using th e Zoom Use the zoom buttons to activate optical zoom. Press f ( h ) to zoom o ut, increasing the area visible in the fram e, or g ( i ) to zoom in so that the subject fills a larger area of the frame.

28 Basic Photography and Playback: A uto Mode Us in g t h e Fla sh The flas h has a range of 0. 5-6.5 m (1.6-2 1.3 ft.) wh en the came ra is zoomed out all the way. With maxi mum optical zoom applied, the range is 0.5-3.5 m (1.6-11.5 ft.) (when [ISO sensitivity] is set to [Auto]).
