Y ou can configur e the counter to measure the width of high pulses or low pulses on the Gate signal.

This condition ensures that correct v alues are returned b y th e counter .

A semi-period is the time between any tw o consecuti ve e dges on the Gate input.

As your frequency becomes larger , this error of ±1 cycle becomes more significant; T ab le 9-2 illustrates this point.

When channel A leads channel B, the increment occurs on the rising edge of channel A. When channel B leads channel A, the decrement occurs on the f alling edge of channel A.
