5 KEYPAD CONTROLS & INDI CATORS Window . Displays system status messages, zone descrip tions, etc. STATUS Light. Lights (green) to indicate that the system is rea dy for arming. If a zone is not secured the light will be off and the zone will display in the window.

If you attempt to a rm with a faul ted Prio rity Zone , a 3- seco nd to ne will s ound at the key pad, and " CAN'T A RM" wil l display in the window, indic ating that the troubl e(s) must be cor rect ed before t he pa nel can b e armed.
8 ARMING AW AY: SETTING THE ALARM WHEN LE A VING If you attemp t to arm wi th a “TROUBLE” display (altern ating with a s ystem troub le error code), a 3- second tone will sound at the keypad. (See SYSTEM TROUBLE ERROR CODES for descriptions of codes).
9 Arming in STAY Mode Interior Zones, when bypassed, allow free movement withi n the premises while the protection of armed perimeter zones is mai ntained. Enter your code, then press P . The red ARMED light will turn on and the green STAT US light will blink, indica ting zones bypassed.
10 ARMING ST AY: PROTECTING YOURSEL F AT HOME Instant Protection W hen retiring for the evening, after all family members are home, you can cancel the entry delay on the Entry Zone(s). Then, when armed, opening the entry door will cause an immediate al arm.
11 Disarmi ng the System 1 Upon entry , the keypad sounder w ill turn on as a reminder t o disar m the panel. The red ARMED light will be on and the window w ill alternatel y display "DISARM" and "XXXSEC" , where " XXX" repre sents t he entry time remain ing in 1 0-sec ond step s.

14 FIRE PROTECTION Preparing a Fire Escape Plan Even with the most advanced fire alarm system, adequat e protection requires an escape pla n. To prepare your plan, draw floor plans of your building. (Space is provided on the next page). Show two exits - a front or back do or and a window from each ro om.

16 FIRE PROTECTION Although a fire alarm syste m may be of a reliable and state-of- the-art design, neither it nor its peripheral detection dev ices can offer guaranteed protection against fire.
17 FUNCTION MENU The keypad can provide access to a w ide assortm ent of utility functions. The f u nctions are displayed in a prompting “YES/NO” format. W hile the messages are shown here in thei r entirety, actual displays w ill scroll automatically in two screens.

19 FUNCTION MENU A ctivate Chime? "MONITOR ON" wi ll be displayed and the Chime Mode will sound a tone at the keypad when the p rogrammed zone is opened while disarmed. To deactivate th e Chime Mode, execu te the "TurnOff Chim e" function.
