NOTES T o enjoy Dolby Digital sound from this DVD player you need the following: • DVD recor ded in Dolby Digital • 6 channel receiver equipped with a Dolby Digital decoder or Dolby Digital pr ocessor and power receiver • 5 speakers and 1 subwoofer • T o enjoy Dolby Digital sound, you need to select “Dolby Digital” on the SETUP menu.

GB 23 USING A TITLE MENU Advanced Operation Some movie discs may contain two or more titles. If the disc has a title menu r ecorded on it, the TITLE button can be used to select the movie title (The details of operation differ depending on the disc used).
GB 24 CHANGING SUBTITLE LANGUAGE Advanced Operation It is possible to change the subtitle language to a differ ent language from the one selected at the initial settings (See page 31 for further info). This operation works only with discs on which multiple subtitle languages are r ecorded.
GB 25 VIEWING FROM ANOTHER ANGLE Advanced Operation Some DVDs may contain scenes which have been shot simultaneously from a number of dif ferent angles. For these discs, the same scene can be viewed from each of these dif ferent angles using the ANGLE button (The recor ded angles differ depending on the disc used).
GB 26 REPEA T PLA Y Advanced Operation REPEA T VIEWING (LISTENING) Press REPEA T during playback. Each time this button is pressed, the TV screen changes as shown below and the disc will repeat a chapter or title (DVD) or a track (CD).
GB 27 ZOOM FEA TURE Advanced Operation The Zoom feature allows you to “ZOOM-IN” and enlarge the pictur e on the screen to either 4 times (X4) or 16 times (X16) its normal size. 1 Press ZOOM during normal playback or still playback. • The square frame will be displayed in the center of the pictur e.
GB 28 MEMORIZING SETTINGS FOR VIEWED DVDS (CONDITION MEMORY) Advanced Operation This unit will memorize the settings for DVDs you have already watched. Settings r emain in memory even if you remove the disc fr om the player , or switch the power OFF .
GB 29 PROGRAM PLA Y Advanced Operation The player plays the tracks in the disc in an order you specify . NOTE Program play function is possible only with audio CDs. It does not work with DVD movie discs. 1 Press PROGRAM during playback or stop mode. The pr ogram playback screen appears on the TV scr een.
GB 30 COMMON PROCEDURES OF INITIAL SETTINGS Initial Settings Once the initial settings have been completed, the player can always be operated under the same conditions (especially with DVD discs). The settings will be retained in the memory until they ar e changed, even if the power is switched off.
GB 31 SELECTING DISC LANGUAGES Initial Settings This is to select the audio soundtrack language, subtitle language and the language used in title menus or DVD menus which will always be used for every disc to be played back.
This is to prohibit the playing of specified DVDs which ar e unsuitable for children. Some DVD discs contain a r estriction level which enables parents to r emove scenes or prevent playback of discs by children. DVD players are equipped with a passwor d designed to prevent children changing the level.
GB 33 SELECTING RA TING LEVEL AND P ASSWORD Initial Settings SETTING YOUR P ASSWORD (DVD ONL Y) If you change the rating level to “7” or lower , you must enter a 4-digit “password” to pr event playback of discs with higher ratings. 1 At the SETUP screen, pr ess to select “Password” and press 2 Input a 4-digit password and pr ess ENTER.
GB 34 SELECTING TV ASPECT Initial Settings Select the appropriate scr een type according to your TV set; conventional size screen (4:3) or wide-scr een (16:9). 1 At the SETUP screen, pr ess to select “TV Aspect” and press 2 Press to select the desired Aspect and pr ess ENTER.
