MSI R G 3 0 0 E X （ Lite ) 2.0 Introduction Thank you for purc hasing MSI RG300EX （ Lite) rout er . W e would like bri efly introduce how to setup our N router to you with follow ing charters. After this configuratio n, you can enjoy the spee d brings by RG300EX （ Lite) series pr oducts.
MSI R G 3 0 0 E X （ Lite ) which you co nnected the UTP networking cable, is lit. The LED on the ne twork adapter of your computer should also be lit.

The logi n s creen is show n. 3.3 Determining the connection method T o quickly configure the RG 300EX （ Lite) for a conne ction to the Interne t through your provider you will first need to determine which connec tion method your provider is using (‘ DHCP’, ‘Static IP’, or ‘PPPoE’ ).

MSI R G 3 0 0 E X （ Lite ) WEP security , continue with paragraph 3.4 .2. 3.4.1 WP A security (recommended) 1. Click ‘W ireless W izard’. 2. The wizard appears in a p op-up screen. Click ‘Nex t’. 3. Choose you count ry/region and click ‘Nex t ’.

For this WEP key you are only allowed to use numbers from 0 till 9 and the letters a till f. Do not use any punctuation marks and make sure the password is exactly 26 characters long.

MSI R G 3 0 0 E X （ Lite ) 5.0 Configuring the wireless network on your computer Now that the router has been secured, you w ill need to configure t he computer itself so it c an recognize your secured wireless network an d will be able to ma ke a connection.
MSI R G 3 0 0 E X （ Lite ) 6.0 Firewall & QoS settings The RG300EX （ Lite) is equipped with an advanced firewall. T his firewall allows y ou to open ports, allowing certain pr ograms to gain access to the Internet. Y ou can open these ports usin g the function ‘Port Forwarding’.
