39 EMC an d leakag e curre nt s 3 PRECAUTIONS FOR USE OF THE INVERTER 3.1.3 Power supply harm onics The inverter may generate power supply harmonics from its converter circuit to affect the power generator , power capacitor etc. Power supply harmonics are different from noise and leakage currents in source, frequency band and transmission path.
40 EMC and le akage current s 1) Calculation of equival ent capacity P0 of harmonic generating equipment The "equivalent cap acity" is the cap acity of a 6 -pulse converter converted from the cap acity of consumer's harmonic generating equipment and is calculated with the following equation.

42 Inverter -driven 400 V class motor 3.3 Inv er ter-driv en 400 V c lass motor In the PWM ty pe inverter , a surge voltage attribut able to wiri ng constants is generated at the motor terminals. Especially for a 400V class motor , the surge voltage may deteriorate the insulation.
