4 Power up y our computer and check to see if USB is implemented. Visually inspect the USB ports of your computer . If you cannot find the USB ports at the back of your computer (See Fig ure 1), read the documentation that came w ith y our computer main board.
5 1. Installing PC Camera and PC Camera driv er Before installing Camera to your computer, make sure W indows starts up. Then follow the steps below: 1.
6 9. W hen you have finished the location selecti on, click “Nex t” to continue. 10. W indows w ill search for your PC Camera device and driver location. 11. Click “Next”. W indows will copy Driv er files into your system. 12. Click “Finish” to co mplete P C Camera d river installa tio n.
7 1. Insert Installatio n CD into your CD-ROM drive. 2. An Introduction screen w ill appear with a menu or CD contents. Note: If the inst aller scr een does not com e up automatically, click “Start ”, “Run”, and execute the f ile “ cdset up.
8 1. Click Start> Programs> ArcSoft VideoImpression 1.6> ArcSoft VideoImpressi on 1.6. 2. The introduction screen will appear wi th a menu of sof tware contents. 3. Click “ New. ” 4. Select “Capture” . The window shows a Liv e preview as seen from the PC Camera .

10 You can create mov ies by pl acing image and mov ie files onto the Story board from var ious Albums. To create a movi e, do the following : 1. Click on the New icon from the Main Screen. This will take you to the Album Screen. 2. Use the options on the Album Scr een to construct your mov ie.
11 The Storyboard show s you each step or part of the movie that y ou are creating. NOTE: You can add a thumbnail to your Story board by drag-n-dr op, or by hig hlighti ng a thumbnail and clicki ng on the Add To Storyboar d icon. Text - Is highli ghted if there is tex t added to the respectiv e thumbnail.
12 To edit still images, double click on the review w indow in “Still Ima ge T empla te” Play Movie - Takes you back to the View Screen w here you can play , save, and email your movie. Transitions - Takes you to the Transitions Screen (See “ Options on the Storyboar d ” ).
13 1. From the Edit Screen, select the v ideo frame you w ant to print. 2. Right- click the vi deo and select “Print.” 1. Click on Sav e on the Main Screen. 2. In the Sav e As window , select the driv e and folder that you w ant to save the mov ie to.
14 1. Click Start. 2. Select Programs>ArcSoft PhotoImpression> PhotoImpression 3.0. The PhotoImpression Main Screen will appear on y our desktop. Options on the Main Screen: - Opens images from an album, a disk dr ive (F rom Folder). Or from photo-sharing website (Online Ser vice).
15 - Rotates the imag e at the user’s discreti on. - Appl ies a mirror eff ect to your i mage by flipping it. - Rotates the imag e in 90-degree i ncrements. - C ancels the last unsaved chang e you’v e made. - Rev erses the last action y ou’ve undone.
16 You can open an image that i s stored on your hard driv e, floppy disk, CD- ROM, etc. 1. Click the Get Photo button on the Mai n Screen, and select From Folder. 2. Click Browse. A Brow se for Folder dialog will appear. 3. Navig ate to the folder that you w ish to view .
17 Photo albums allow easy identi fication and access to images for view ing, edi ting, printi ng, etc. Simply click on the Get Photo button on the Main Screen, and sel ect Album to view the album options. I t is imp ortant to rememb er that albu ms do not st ore i mages.
18 Click the Edit button on the M ain Screen to display the various edi ting options. Crop/Resize: - Allows y ou to select a rectangular area on an image.
19 - Reduces the red-ey e effect common in flash photography. - Smoothes rough edg es. - Sharpens fu zzy a r ea s. - Lower s brightness. - Raises brig htness. - Lets you set a color on your imag e as the active color. - Cover s the area you cli ck on (based on color simil arity) with the activ e color.
20 Click on the Cr eate button on the Main Screen to see the create opti ons. : You can add a f r am e or edge t o an im age by selecting t he option you wish, and then clicking A pply. (You can preview diff erent options bef ore sett ling on a part icular one.
21 PhotoImpression prov ides four different printing opti ons: • Standard Printi ng: prints one imag e per page. You can add a ti tle, center the image and title, change the paper orientation, add a frame (a black outl ine) around the imag e, resize the image, and select the number of copies ( W indow s only) that you w ant printed.
