37 Getting started Unlocking Unlocking with KEYLESS-GO* With the KEYLESS-GO function, you can lock and unlock the vehicle without using the remote control buttons on the SmartKey and start th e engine without in- serting the Smar tKey in the star ter switch.

Keep the driver’s foot well clear of all obsta- cles. If there are any floormats or carpets in the footwell, make sure that the pedals still have sufficient clearance.

A child’s risk of serious or fatal injuries is significantly increased if the child restraints are not properly secured in the vehicle and the child is not properly secured in the child restraint.
51 Getting started Driving 왘 Place the shoulder portion of the seat belt across the top of your shoulder and the lap portion acr oss your hips. 왘 Push latch plate 2 into buckle 3 until it clicks. 왘 If necessary, tighten the lap portion to a snug fit by pulling shoulder portion up.

56 Getting started Driving After a cold start, the automatic transmis- sion shifts at a higher engine revolution. This allows the catalytic converter (gasoline engine) or the oxidation catalyst (diesel engine) to reach its operating tem- perature earlier.

The wipers move across the wind- shield. Afterward, the wiping interva ls are determined by the wetness of the windshield.
