10 ENGLISH CONNECTIONS This CD play er is connected to an amplifier , CD recorder and other components for use . T o ensure that the components are connected properly , refer to the instruction manuals that come with the components to be connected. Before connecting the components , be absolutely sure to tur n off their power .
11 ENGLISH CONNECTING T O A DIGIT AL A UDIO COMPONENT The play er has one digital optical output connector and one digital coaxial output connector . Y ou can enjo y digital recording when the play er is connected to a CD recorder or other digital recording component.
12 ENGLISH B ASIC OPERA TIONS –A UDIO CD– PLA YING CDS 1 2, 3 4 4 2, 3 1. Press the POWER b utton on the play er to turn on the power . 2. Press the OPEN/CLOSE 0 button on the play er or on the remote control. Place the CD to be play ed in the extended disc tra y while ensuring that the label with the printed text is f acing up.
13 ENGLISH 3. Press the OPEN/CLOSE 0 button to retract the disc tra y . Once the disc tra y has been retracted, “T OC Reading” appears on the displa y , after which the total number of CD trac ks and total playing time are displa yed.

15 ENGLISH AD V ANCED OPERA TIONS –A UDIO CD– RANDOM PLA Y (PLA YING TRA CKS IN A RANDOM SEQUENCE) This function rearranges the trac ks into a random sequence and it then plays all the tr acks in this random sequence. If it is used together with repeat play , the same trac ks can be repeatedly played b ut in a different sequence e very time.
16 ENGLISH PROGRAM PLA Y (PLA YING TRA CKS IN THE PREFERRED SEQUENCE) The order in which the CD tracks are pla yed can be rearranged into the sequence desired.
17 ENGLISH AD V ANCED OPERA TIONS –A UDIO CD– 4. Once all the tracks ha ve been programmed, press the 7 button on the pla yer or remote control unit or press the PROGRAM b utton on the remote control unit. The PROG indicator stops flashing and lights up instead, and the program is entered.
18 ENGLISH AD V ANCED OPERA TIONS –A UDIO CD– DELETE PROGRAM PLA Y (PLA Y WITH UNDESIRED TRA CKS SKIPPED) This function makes it possib le to skip those tracks that you do not w ant to hear during CD play . Up to 30 tracks can be deleted from the prog ram.

21 ENGLISH O THER FUNCTIONS –A UDIO CD– PITCH CONTROL (CHANGING THE PLA Y SPEED) The play speed (pitch) can be changed across a ±12 step . Note: Digital signals are not output during pitch control. (Signals are output when the pitch control is set to 0).
22 ENGLISH O THER FUNCTIONS –A UDIO CD– EDITING (RECORDING A DISC ON A T APE) When recording from a compact disc to a tape, use this function to match the tape length to the playing time of the tracks to be recorded and to create 4- second intervals between the trac ks.
23 ENGLISH O THER FUNCTIONS –A UDIO CD– 7 Program edit This procedure allows y ou to record tracks in an y desired order while fitting the tracks into a specified tape length. 1. Program trac ks according to “PROGRAM PLA Y” (page 16). 2. The rest of the program edit procedure is the same as step 1 to 4 in the simple edit procedure.
