If not, ensure the m ain breaker (located at the power supply panel) and the disconnect switch (located ne ar the heat pump) are both turned ON. o Doe s the display read “Flo”? If so , check to be sure that the circulating pump is operating and the filter is clean.
20 WATER LE AKI NG OUT O F TH E HEAT PUM P (Is it a leak or just condensation from normal oper ation? Here’s how to find out). o Sh ut off your heat pum p, leaving the pool pump running. In a couple of hours there should be a marked reduction in the a mount of water around the bottom of the heat pump.
21 APPENDIX I. AQUACAL’S PLANNE D MAINTENANCE PROGRAM II. CALCULATING INIT IAL HEATING TIME III. OWNER’S INS TRUCTIONS FOR H P7 DIGITAL HEAT PUMP CONT ROLLER.
PLANNE D MAI NTENANCE PROG RAM Just as you would have yearly service performed on your air conditioning system, regular inspection & m aintenance of your AquaCal heat pump will insure highest operating efficiencie s while also protecting your investment… Potentially extending the useful life o f your heat pump far beyond the warranty period.
CALCULAT ING REQUIRE D HE ATING TIM E The initial time it takes to get your pool warm depends on several factors. First you will need to determ i ne ho w m any gallons of water are in your pool. If y ou know this, you can com pute the pounds of water in the pool and the BTU’s necessary to heat the pool to the desired tem perature.
When you start up your new AquaCal Heat Pump for the fir st time to heat your pool, you must allow the unit to run continuously unti l the desired temperature is reached. This may take from several hours to several days depending upon the tim e of the year and the outside conditions.
