5 The tool speed can be infinitely adjusted between 500 and 3,100 strokes per minute b y turning the adjusting dial. Higher speed is obtained when the dial is turned in the direction of number 6; lower speed is obtained when it is turned in the direction of number 1.

T o install the anti-splinter ing device , mov e the base all the wa y fo rward and insert it between the two protru- sions of the base. NO TE: • The anti-splintering device cannot be used when making bev el cuts.
