T he default is 1 0 seconds. m Choose Settings > Back light Timer , and then choose the time y ou want.

Chapter 2 Music Features 17 Pur chasing Songs and Downloading P odcasts Using the i T unes Store If you hav e an Internet connection, you can easily purchase and download songs, albums, and audiobooks online using the iT unes Store. Y ou can also subscribe to and download podcasts, radio-style audio shows.
18 Chapter 2 Music Features T o download or subscribe to a podcast: 1 Click iT unes Store in the Source pane . 2 Click the P odcasts link on the left side of the main page in the iT unes Store. 3 Browse f or the podcast you want t o download. Â T o download a single podcast episode , click the Get Episode button next to the episode.

22 Chapter 2 Music Features Syncing Music F rom Selec ted Playlists to iP od nano Setting iT unes to sync selected playlists to iP od nano is useful if the music in your music librar y doesn ’t fit on iP od nano. Only the music in the playlists you select is synced to iP od nano.
Chapter 2 Music Features 23 T o make a new playlist on iP od nano: 1 In iT unes, selec t iP od nano in the Source pane , and then click the Add ( + ) button or choose F ile > New Playlist. 2 T ype a name for the playlist. 3 Click an item, such as Music, in the Library list, and then drag songs or other items to the playlist.

Use the Click Wheel and Cent er button to browse f or a song, audiobook, or podcast. Note: Y ou only see menu items for P odcasts and Audiobooks if you ’ve loaded those items onto iP od nano.
Chapter 2 Music Features 25 Setting iP od nano to Shuffle Songs Y ou can set i P od nano to play songs , albums, or your entir e librar y in random order . T o set iPod n ano to shuffle and play all y our songs: m Choose Shuffle Songs from the iP od nano main menu.
26 Chapter 2 Music Features T o remove a song from the On-T he-Go playlist: m Select a song in the playlist, and hold down the C enter button until the song title flashes. T o clear the entire On-The-Go playlist: m Choose Music > Playlists > On-T he-Go > Clear Playlist.
