Use To Streamline work processes by letting you qui ckly fin d and print frequently used onlin e forms directly from the printer home screen. Note: The printer must have permission to access the network folder, FTP site, o r Web site where the bookmark is stored.

Installing hardware options Order of ins tallation CAUTION—PO TENTIAL IN JURY: Th e print er we ight is great er tha n 18 kg (40 lb) and r equire s two or mor e trained p ersonnel to lift it safely.
3 Align the 650 ‑ sheet d uo tr ay wi th th e 55 0 ‑ sheet tray, and then lower it in to place. Notes: • If you ar e installing b oth the optio nal trays , then the 550 ‑ sheet tray (Tray 3) must al ways be below the 650 ‑ sheet tray (Tray 2).
5 Install the dust cove rs. Note: When the pr inter softwa re and any hardware op tions are installed, you may n eed to m anually add the options in the print er driver to make them a vailable fo r print jo bs. Loading the 650 ‑ sheet duo tray The 650 ‑ s h e e t d u o t r a y ( T r a y 2 ) c o n s i s t s o f a 5 5 0 ‑ sheet tray and an integr ated 100 ‑ sheet multipurpose feeder. The tr ay is loaded in the same way as the 250 ‑ sheet tra y and th e op tiona l 550 ‑ sheet tray, a nd suppor ts th e same paper types and sizes.
Loading the multipurpose feeder 1 Push the mu ltipurpose feeder latch to t he left. 2 Open the multipu rpose feeder. 3 Pull the multipur pose feeder extender.
4 Prepare the paper fo r loading. • Flex the sheets of pap er back and forth to loosen them, and then fan them. Do not fold or crease the paper. Straighten the edges on a level surface. • Hold transparencies by the edges , and then fan them. Straighten the edges on a level surface.
5 Paper size indicator 6 Load the paper, and then adjust the width guide to lightly touch the edge of the paper stack. • Load paper, card stock, and transparencies with the recommended printable side facedown and the top edge entering the pri nter first.

Tips on us ing ca rd stock Card st ock is h eavy, sing le ‑ pl y specialty medi a. Many of its va riable characteri stics, suc h as moist ure content , thickn ess, and tex ture, c an si gnifica ntly aff ect prin t qual ity.
Moisture content The amount of moistu re in paper affects both print quality and the ability of the printer to feed the p aper correctly. Leave paper in its original wr apper u ntil it is time to u se it. This lim its the expo sure of paper to m oisture changes that can deg rade i ts per formance .
• Do not mix pa per sizes , types, or weigh ts in the same t ray; mix ing resul ts in ja ms. • Do not use coated papers unless t hey are specifically designed for electrophotogr aphic printing.
• Store in dividual pac kages on a flat surfac e. • Do not store a nything on top of indivi dual pa per pa ckages. • Take paper ou t of the carto n or wrapp er only when you ar e read y to load it in the pr inter . The ca rton and wrapp er help keep the paper clean , dry, and flat.

Overlay This op tion lets you create a watermar k (or messa ge) that over lays the co ntent of yo ur copy. You can choos e from Conf ident ial, C opy, Draft, Urge nt, an d Cu stom. You c an t ype a cust om message in t he ”Enter the Cu stom Text Overlay and press OK” f ield.

Resolution This opti on lets yo u adjust the out put qual ity of your e-ma il. Increasing the image resolution increases the e-mail file size and the tim e neede d to s can your origina l docum ent .
Page Setup This option lets you chang e the follo wing sett ings: • Sides ( Duplex) —This specif ies if the or iginal docum ent is prin ted on o nly on e side or o n bo th sides of the p aper . This also identifies what needs to be scanned for inclusion in the e-mail.
