An optional me mory card can be purcha sed separa tely and a ttach ed to the s ystem board. To install the memory card: 1 Turn the printer off. 2 Acce ss the system board. 3 Unpac k t he memo ry c ard. No te : Avoid t ouching t he conn ection poin ts along t he edge of the card.
It may require some force to fully seat the card. 7 Ensure that each latc h fits over the notch on each end of t he card. 8 Close the system board door. 9 Turn the prin ter back on. 10 Open the printers folder: a Click , or click Start and then clic k Run .
Installing a flash memory or firmw are card The syste m boa rd ha s two connect io ns for an opt iona l fla sh mem ory or fi rmw are c ard . Only o ne of ea ch may be inst al led, but the connec tors are i nte rchange able.

2 Squeeze and slide the guides to the cor rect position for the paper size you are loading. For l ong paper li ke A4 or legal, sq ueeze a nd s lide t he l ength g uide ba ckward s to accom moda te the lengt h of paper you are lo ading.
If you ar e load ing A6 ‑ size pape r: a Squeeze and slide the length guide to ward the center of the tr ay to the A5 size position. b Raise the A6 backstop.

Loading the mult ipurpose feeder 1 Squeeze the tab loc a ted on the ri ght width guide, and move the guides out fully. 2 Prepare the paper or specialty media for loading. • Fle x sheets o f pa per or pape r labels back and forth t o l oosen them, and then fan them .
• Flex a stack of envelopes back and forth to loosen them, and then fan them. Straighten the edges on a level sur face . Note: Fanning prevents th e edges of envelopes from sticking together. It also helps them feed prop erly to avoi d jams. Do not fo ld or cr ease envelo pes.
• Load letterhea d with the l ogo faceup and the top edge en tering the p rinter first . • Load envelopes with t he flap sid e dow n and the s tamp loc ation in the posi tion sho wn. The stamp and addres s are sho wn to illustrat e the prop er orientat ion for loadin g envelopes.
5 Slide t he paper ge ntly i nto the multipu rpos e feeder until it c omes t o a st op. P aper s hould lie flat in the multip urpose feeder. Make sure the paper fits loosely in the multipurpose feeder and is no t b en t or wrinkled. 6 From t he p rinter contr ol pane l, set the Paper Size a nd Pape r Type .
