4 Intr oduction Thank you for purchasing the Kor g MR-2000S 1-bit studio recor der . In order to take full advantage of your new equipment, please read this manual car efully and use the product as dir ected. When you've read the manual, keep it safe for future r eference.
5 Pa r ts of the MR-2000S Fr ont panel 1. Power button, power LED This turns the MR-2000S on or off (standby). The power LED will light-up gr een when on, and red when off (standby). If you disconnect the power cable, the power will be completely off and the power LED will go dark.
6 9. Display button When the home screen is shown in the display , pressing this button will switch the content shown in the counter display area ( → p.17). 10. Dial Use this dial to select projects ( → p.10) or files, to select parameters in various screens, and to specify values.

9 Basic operation 1. P o wer and usage Plug the power cable into an AC outlet. Connect the power cable to the AC connector on the back of the MR-2000S. When you connect the power cable, the MR-2000S will enter the Off (Standby) status in appr oximately one second, and the power LED will light-up red.
10 4. Playing bac k the demo pr oject The MR-2000S contains a high-quality demo project that was r ecorded in DFF (DSDIFF) format. Her e's how to play back this project. When the MR-2000S is shipped from the factory , the clock source ( → p.29) is set to Internal.
11 5. The home screen When you turn on the power , the home screen is shown in the display . When the menu list (MENU) screen is shown, you can also access the level meter screen by pr essing the menu button. This screen shows information such as the MR-2000S's operating status and r ecording/playback format.
12 Order / total n umber in folder This shows the order of the pr ojects/files within the specified folder , as well as the total number of projects/files in that folder . Project/file f ormat This shows the format of the selected project/file ( → p.
13 Selecting the input sour ce Here's how to select the input sour ce that you want to use. The audio signal from the input jack that you specify here will be the audio that is input during r ecord-r eady mode or while recording. W ith the factory settings, the clock sour ce ( → p.
14 2. Use the dial to select the Project T ype, and press the enter button to confirm. A check mark will appear in the check box for the project type you selected and confirmed. Y ou can choose from W A V (BWF), DFF , DSF , and WSD. For details on each type, please r efer to "Project recor ding format (New Project T ype)" (p.
15 4. Use the dial to select the desired gain value, and press the enter button to confirm. The selection icon will change from " " to " ". Perform these steps for the left and right channels. Adjust the level so that the signal does not exceed the "0" marking.
16 7. Other playbac k/editing operations Selecting the pr oject/file to play Use the dial to select (or choose from a list) the pr oject/file that you want to play . When you turn on the power , the most recently selected project/file will be selected.

20 Pr otecting a project Here's how to pr otect a project. If you edit the mark settings of a pr oject that is protected, these settings will r evert to their original state when you select another pr oject or turn off the power .
21 Viewing details about the pr oject/file Here's how you can view detailed information about a pr oject/file. Y ou can view the audio format, song length, artist, title, date and time, and file size. 1. Select and confirm the project/file whose details you want to view .
22 Viewing the mark list Here's how to view the list showing the marks in a pr oject in the order of their time location. 1. Select and confirm the project/file whose marks you want to view . Refer to "Selecting a project/file to edit" on page 17.
23 2. Use the dial to select the item that you want to edit, and press the enter button to confirm. Changing the time locations of the marks Y ou can register marks in any position of the W A V , DFF or WSD project, but for the DSF pr oject, only the 1 1.

29 System setting (SYSTEM) Here you can adjust various system settings for the MR- 2000S itself. Press the menu button to access the menu list (MENU) screen, use the dial to select "SYSTEM," press the enter button to confirm, and then adjust the settings as described her e.
