10 First-Time Batter y Charging F W ARNING • The battery must be handled by adults only . • Never allow childr en to charge the batter y . Batter y charging must be done by adults only . A child could be injur ed by the electricity involved in charging the batter y .
® ® • Squeeze the Lock-In TM connector tabs on the charger connector and plug it into the battery connector . • Plug the charger into a standard 120 volt wall outlet. Note: If power flow to the wall outlet is controlled by a switch, make sure the switch is “ON”.
Assembly Do Not Omit Any Steps. Please set aside at least 30 minutes for assembly . • Position a handlebar plug against the top end of a handlebar . • Moisten a hand grip with war m water . • Slide the hand grip onto the end of the handlebar . • Repeat this procedure to attach the other handlebar plug and handgrip to the other handlebar .
• Apply labels to the dashboard as shown. • Make sure the areas where the labels will be applied are clean and dry. • For best adhesion, avoid applying labels more than once.
• Insert the four tabs on the underside of the windshield into the holes in the fairing. • Press fir mly on the windshield to fit the tabs into the holes. 7 14 Windshield Assembly Fairing • Lay the vehicle body on its belly. • Fit the dashboard onto the top of the swivel bracket.
Assembly • Stand the vehicle body on its rear wheels. • Fit the fairing onto the front of the swivel bracket. • Align the screw holes in the front of the fairing with the holes in the swivel bracket. • Insert two #8 x 1 1 / 2 " screws into the fairing.
• Fit the fender onto the ends of the handlebars. • Slide the fender up the handle- bars to the fairing. 10 • Fit one end of the front axle into a cap nut. • T ap the front axle with a hammer to secure the cap nut on the front axle. 11 Assembly 16 12 • Remove the rubber bands from the shock sets and dispose of the rubber bands.
14 Assembly • Slide the front axle through the hole in the shock halves and handlebar . 13 17 15 • Fit and hold an inner shock half to the inside of a handlebar . • Fit and hold an outer shock half to the outside of the same handlebar . • Make sure the top ends of the shock halves fit into the fender .
18 Assembly • Fit and hold an inner shock half to the inside of the exposed handlebar . • Fit and hold an outer shock half to the outside of the same handlebar . • Make sure the top ends of the shock halves fit into the fender . 16 • Position the front wheel between the handlebars.
Assembly • Position the vehicle upright. • Apply headlight labels to the fairing as shown. • Make sure the areas where the labels will be applied are clean and dry. • For best adhesion, avoid applying labels more than once. 19 L • Align the “L” on the left headlight lens with the “L” in the left head- light on the fairing.
• Snap the gas cap into the vehicle body. 22 • Insert the tabs on the front of the seat into the vehicle body. • Lower the seat. 23 Assembly Proper label application will help to keep the labels looking their best! • W ash your hands before applying the labels.
• Lift the seat to access the battery compartment. 1 Batter y Installation H • Place the battery upright in the battery compartment. Make sure the battery connector extends towards the rear of the vehicle. • Make sure a Power Wheels ® 25 amp fuse in good condition is installed in the battery.
Batter y Installation • Squeeze the tabs on each side of the motor harness connector . • Plug the battery connector into the motor harness connector . Please Note: If the battery connector will not plug into the motor harness connector , tur n it over and try again! Do not force the battery connector into the motor harness connector .
Batter y Installation • Rotate the lock fastener 1 / 4 turn using a slotted screwdriver to lock the battery compartment. • T o make sure the lock fastener is locked, insert the blade of the screwdriver under the back of the seat and push down on the screwdriver handle.

2 • Squeeze the tabs on the motor harness connector to unplug it from the battery connector . • Squeeze the tabs on the charger connector to plug it into the battery connector . • Plug the charger into a standard 120 volt wall outlet . Note: If power to the outlet is controlled by a wall switch, make sure the switch is “ON”.
Batter y Handling/Care/Disposal J W ARNING • The battery must be handled by adults only . • Never permit a child to handle the batter y . The battery is heavy and contains sulfuric acid (electrolyte), and if dr opped, could result in a serious injury .
• Adult supervision is r equired. Childr en do not have the judgement necessary to avoid many accidents. Be sure that children operating this vehicle can do so safely and that they are supervised at all times. • Never use on or danger ously close to steps, inclines greater than 10˚, r oadways, bodies of water , low obstructions or in the dark.
10˚ Rules for Safe Driving Incline should never be more than 10° • While driving across a steep slope, the vehicle may tilt and tip over . The wheels could lose traction causing the vehicle to slip. • While driving up a steep incline, the motor may stop and the vehicle could roll backwards at an unsafe speed.
29 STOP GO How to Operate your V ehicle L • Press down on the foot pedal to drive. • Lift your foot from the foot pedal to stop. Y our Kawasaki ® ZX-7 has a patented, electronic braking system that automatically stops the vehicle when your child ’ s foot if lifted from the pedal.
? Questions and Answers M Q. How often do I need to charge the battery? A. Charge the battery for a minimum of 18 hours after each use of the vehicle or whenever the vehicle begins to slow down. When the vehicle is not in regular use, charge the battery at least once a month until normal use is resumed.
