12 Connections T o obtain the best possible so und from this system, yo u need to place all the speakers ex cept the subw oofer a t the same distance fro m the listening position. If your speakers cannot be plac ed at the same distance from the listening position Y o u can ad jus t the delay tim e of the s peakers.
13 Connections Y o u can co nnect a USB mass st orag e class device such a s a USB flash memor y device, har d disc drive, multimedia car d reader , digital camera, etc.
14 Operating the TV 7 To operate a JVC’s TV Y o u can perfo rm the follo wing opera tion s on the TV . Y ou can use the remote con trol to operate not only this unit but also JV C TVs. • Refer also to th e man uals sup plied fo r the T V . • T o operat e the TV , a im the rem ote co n trol dir ectly at the r emote sensor o n the TV .
15 Basic operations On the remote control: Press A UDIO . On the center unit: Press . Wh e n DV D o r US B M EM ORY is s e l e c t e d as t h e s ou rc e ( s e e page 16), the fo llowin g messag es will ap pear on the TV scree n. NOTE • The STANDBY lamp goes off whe n the power is turne d on, and the lamp lights when the po wer is turned off.
16 Basic operations On the remote control: Pres s one of the sourc e selecting buttons (DVD 3 , USB MEMORY 3 , FM/AM or T V SOUND). DVD 3 : T o play back a disc (DVD VIDEO, V CD etc.). (See page 18.) USB MEMORY 3 : T o play back a file in a USB mass storag e class device .
17 Basic operations The system t urns off a uto ma tically when the specified period of time has passed. Pres s SLEEP with SHIFT pressed. Each time you repeat the p rocedur e, the shu t-off time changes . Example: To check the remaining time Press SLEEP once w ith SHIFT pre ss e d.
