Introduction 4 1 The “USB” indicator lights up when a USB device is selected as the source. 2 Disc format indicators • The “SVCD” indicator lights up when playing back an SVCD. • The “VCD” indica tor lights up when pl aying back a VCD.
5 Introduction The numbers refer to the pages in which the parts are explained. Insert the batteries into the remote control by matching the polar ity (+ and − ) correctly . • If the range or effectiveness of the remote con- trol decreases, replace both batteries.
Prep a ration 6 Setting up the AM loop a ntenna NOTE • Keep the AM loop antenna cable wrapped around the AM loop ante nna frame, otherwise the effectiveness and sens itivity of the AM loop antenna may be reduced. Connecting the AM loop antenna T urn the AM loop antenna to find the best positio n for radio reception.
7 Prep a ration Connect the speakers to the ma in unit by connecting th e colored cables to the same color terminals on the rear of the main unit. ■ IMPORT ANT • Improper speaker cable con nection reduces the stereo effect and sound quality .
Prep a ration 8 After connecting a TV , follow the instructi ons on page 10. ■ IMPORT ANT • Connect the main unit directly to a TV (or a mon- itor) without routing through a video cassette recorder (VCR). Otherwi se picture distortion may occur during playback.
9 Prep a ration NOTE • Before connecting or disconnecting an external device, press [VOLUME ] repeatedly to se t the volume of this system to the minimum. Y ou can also use the [VOL –] control on the main unit. • Select the appropriate setting for “DIGIT AL AUDIO OUTPUT” according to the connected device.
