– 11 – English Setting the Auto Power Off Using Auto Power Of f function, the unit automatically turns itself off if no sound comes in for more than 3 minutes except when FM or AM is selected as the source. If any operation is done during this 3-minute period, Auto Power Of f is canceled temporarily even though no sound comes in.

– 17 – English Setting the AM T uner Inter val Spacing Some countries space AM stations 9 kHz apart, and some countries use 10 kHz spacing. When shipped, the built-in AM tuner is set to 9 kHz spacing. Y ou can change it to 9 kHz or 10 kHz spacing.
– 18 – English Presetting Stations Y ou can preset 30 FM and 15 AM stations manually . In some cases, test frequencies hav e been already memorized for the tuner since the factory examined the tuner preset function before shipment. This is not a malfunction.

– 64 – English Handling cassette tapes • If the tape is loose in its cassette, take up the slack by inserting a pencil in one of the reels and rotating. • If the tape is loose, it may get stretched, cut, or caught in the cassette. • Be careful not to touch the tape surface.
– 65 – English MD Disc T ypes There are two types of MDs: Premastered (prerecorded) and Recordable (blank). Premaster ed MDs Premastered MDs, which hav e been recorded at music studio, can be played back like regular CDs. On an MD of this type, data is recorded as the presence or absence of tiny pits.
– 66 – English Cause There is a maximum number of tracks which can be recorded, regardless of recor ding time. More than 254 tracks cannot be recorded on an MD. • Repeating erasure and recording on the same MD creates many blank portions sparsely on the MD.
