17 ENGLISH Installing the Pr ojector Precautions f or Installation ■ When installing the projector , observe the f ollowing: • Do not use the projector placed on its side or upside do wn. The projector cannot be used by being placed on its side or upside down; otherwise, it could malfunction.
18 Precautions for Installation (Cont.) ■ Observe the follo wing when hanging the projector fr om the ceiling • T o prevent falling or overturning, it is recommended that the projector be fixed to its stand with bolts. • When mounting the projector to the ceiling, first install a special shelf and then place the projector on it securely .
19 ENGLISH The vertical angle and the leveling of the projector can be adjusted with the adjustable feet on the bottom of the projector . ■ Adjusting the vertical angle of the projector Lift the projector , rotate the front adjustable feet, and adjust the vertical angle within the range of 0 ° to 3.
20 Installing the Pr ojector against the Screen The projector should be placed so that the center line of the lens is at a right angle to the screen as shown in the following figures.

39 ENGLISH Y ou can adjust picture quality , set functions, get information on the input video signal, etc. using the menus. From the following diagrams, you can see the overall menus. Note that there are three menu modes: No signal menu mode, RGB VIC menu mode and HDTV/HD-SDI VIC menu mode.

VIC Slot : Shows the VIC name selected by the VIC 1, 2, or 3 button. Switcher : Shows the selection number of the switcher connected to the projector .

48 Cleaning and Replacing the Filter s 1 Bring the pr ojector into stand-b y mode, and turn off the MAIN PO WER switc h. Put the projector into stand-by mode, and make sure “00” appears on the status code display , then turn off the MAIN POWER switch.
49 ENGLISH Notes • Install the filters correctly; otherwise the projector will not operate normally . • If the filters and/or filter covers are damaged, the projector may fail to operate. Then, replace with new parts. 5 Reinstall the filters. Reverse the procedure for removing.
50 Replacing the Light-Sour ce Lamp The light-source lamp has its service life. It is appr oximatel y 1000 hours. When the light-source lamp approaches the end of its service life, degradation progresses rapidly . The number display on the projector and the message on the screen warn you that replacement of the lamp is required.
51 ENGLISH T r oubleshooting Solutions to common problems related to your projector are described here. If none of the solutions presented here solves the problem, unplug the projector and consult your dealer . Corrective action • Insert the power cord (plug) firmly .
52 Corrective action • Check the lamp’s use hours on the menu, and if the lamp life is near its end, consult the dealer where you purchased the projector . • Input separate sync signals for vertical sync (V) and horizontal sync (H) signals. • Input signals with little jitter or distortion.
