English – 9 – Common Operations T urning On and Off the Power T o turn on the unit, press so that the ST ANDBY lamp goes of f. The Powered Rolling Panel opens automatically . T o turn off the unit (on standby), press again so that the ST ANDBY lamp lights up The Powered Rolling Panel also closes.
English – 10 – Adjusting the V olume Y ou can adjust the volume level only while the unit is turned on. T urn the V OLUME control clockwise to increase the volume or counterclockwise to decrease it. • The volume level can be adjusted in 32 steps (MIN, VOL 1 — VOL 30, and MAX).
English – 11 – Surround modes * : D.CLUB: Increases resonance and bass. HALL: Adds depth and brilliance to the sound. ST ADIUM: Adds clarity and spreads the sound, like in an outdoor stadium. SEA (Sound Effect Amplifier) modes: ROCK: Boosts low and high frequency .
English – 12 – Listening to FM and AM Broadcasts T uning in a Station 1 Pr ess FM/AM. The unit automatically turns on and tunes in the previously tuned station (either FM or AM). The Powered Rolling Panel automatically opens. • Each time you press the button, the band alternates between FM and AM.

English – 15 – T o check the program contents Before playing, you can check the program contents by pressing 1 / 4 or ¢ / ¡ on the remote control. • ¢ / ¡ : Shows the programmed tracks in the programmed order . • 1 / 4 : Shows them in the reverse order .

English – 17 – Playing Video CDs/SVCDs with PBC Function- Menu Play This System provides Playback Control (PBC) which utilizes a procedure (menu selection) programmed in a video CD. The playback operation procedure may differ depending on the disc you use.

T o stop and cancel the video intro play , press 7 . Viewing the Highlights of a Video CD Y ou can view highlight scenes of the selected track on a video CD only when PBC is off.

English – 22 – T o record an AM station — Beat Cut While recording an AM broadcast, beats may be heard (which are not heard when listening to the broadcast without recording it). If this occurs, press PROGRAM/RANDOM repeatedly , while recording, until the beats are reduced.
English – 23 – Auto Edit Recording By using Auto Edit Recording, you can record the CD tracks to fit the tape. Auto Edit Recording makes a program by selecting the CD tracks in numerical order .
English – 24 – Using the Microphones Y ou can enjoy singing along (Karaoke) and microphone mixing using two microphones. • The MIC LEVEL control adjustment is valid for both microphones connected to the MIC 1 and MIC 2 jacks.
