Husqv ar na is based on a tradition that dates bac k to 1689, when the Swedish King Karl XI ordered the construction of a factory on the banks of the Huskvarna River , f or production of muskets .

8 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Cutting attac hment guard This guard is intended to pre vent loose objects from being thrown to wards the operator . The guard also protects the operator from accidental contact with the cutting attachment. Check that the guard is undamaged and not cr acked.
English – 9 GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS If the muffler on y our machine is fitted with a spar k arrestor screen this must be cleaned regularly . A bloc ked screen will cause the engine to ov erheat and may lead to serious damage.
10 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the loop handle • Clip the loop handle onto the shaft. Note that the loop handle must be fitted between the arro ws on the shaft. • Slide the spacer into the slot in the loop handle. • Fit the nut, knob and scre w .
English – 11 FUEL HANDLING Fuel safety Ne ver star t the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilled fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vaporate . 2 If you ha ve spilled fuel on y ourself or your clothes , change your clothes . W ash any part of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
12 – English FUEL HANDLING Mixing • Alwa ys mix the gasoline and oil in a clean container intended f or fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the gasoline to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture.
English – 13 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k before starting • Check that the support flange is not crack ed due to fatigue or due to being tightened too much. Discard the suppor t flange if it is crac ked. • Ensure the locking n ut has not lost its captive f orce.
14 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING CA UTION! Do not pull the star ter cord all the way out and do not let go of the star ter handle when the cord is fully e xtended. This can damage the machine. CA UTION! Do not put any par t of y our body in marked area.

16 – English W ORKING TECHNIQUES Grass trimming with a trimmer head T rimming • Hold the trimmer head just above the g round at an angle. It is the end of the cord that does the work. Let the cord work at its own pace. Nev er press the cord into the area to be cut.
English – 17 MAINTENANCE Carb uretor Y our Husqv arna product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce har mful emissions. After the engine has used 8-10 tanks of fuel the engine will be run-in.
18 – English MAINTENANCE Fine adjustment of the idle speed T Adjust the idle speed using the idle adjustment screw T , if it is necessar y to readjust. First tur n the idle adjustment screw T clockwise until the cutting attachment starts to rotate. Then turn the screw anticlockwise until the cutting attachment stops.
English – 19 MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o keep the w or king temperature as lo w as possible the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Air intake on the starter . 2 Cooling fins on the cylinder . 3 Cylinder cov er (directs cold air ov er the cylinder).
20 – English MAINTENANCE Spark plug The spark plug condition is influenced by: • Incorrect carburetor adjustment. • An incorrect fuel mixture (too much or incorrect type of oil). • A dir ty air filter . These f actors cause deposits on the spar k plug electrodes , which ma y result in operating problems and starting difficulties.
