9 Bott om Presentation As the boat moves, the unit c harts the changes in depth on the display to create a pr ofile of the Bott om Contour . The type of bot tom can be det ermined from the return c harted on the display . A Hard Bott om such as compacted sedimen t or flat rock appears as a thinner line acr oss the display .
11 200 /83 kHz Split Sonar View Split Sonar View displays sonar returns from the 83 kHz wide beam on the left side of the scr een and displays sonar returns from the 200 kHz narrow beam on the righ t side of the screen. Depth is always displayed in the upper left hand corner .
12 Big Digits View Big Digits View provides digital data in a large, eas y-to-see format. Depth is always displayed. Readouts for temperature, speed and T riplog information are displayed automatically if the appropriate accessory is connected to the Matrix™.
15 14 Bird’ s Eye View Bird's Eye View shows a 3D perspective view of the track and the c hart land contour from a point above and behind the boat (the eye point). As the boat turns , the eye point moves t o follow the boat. When you press the 4-W A Y Cursor key in the Bird’ s Eye View , the position of the eye point will shift.
17 Combo View Combo View is displayed as a split screen, with Chart View on the left and Sonar View on the right side of the screen. The width of the sonar window can be changed. View Orientation Both Char t and Combo views allow you to choose the orien tation of the view .
19 Nearest Current Station: Current information for the near est current station to your pr esent position will be displayed. This includes the position of the station and the current changes f or today .

23 Add or Remove a T rolling Grid: From the W aypoints submenu, select Grid and press the RIGHT Cursor key to display a list of waypoin ts. Select the waypoint to which you wan t to add the grid. The trolling grid will appear on all of the navigation views, and can be used as a guide when trolling around a waypoint.
25 Edit, Delete or Hide Sav ed T r acks Display the T racks Submenu: From any view , press the MENU key twice to display the Main Menu System, then use the RIGHT Cursor k ey to select the Navigation tab . Select T racks and press the RIGHT Cursor key to display the T racks submenu.
MENU K ey The MENU key is used to access the menu syst em. Start-Up Options Menu - Press the MENU key during the power up sequence t o view the Start -Up Options menu.
Accessory Bus Use the Accessory Bus to expand the functionality of your Matrix™. Accessories plug directly into the Matrix™, enabling Advanced features suc h as W eatherSense® and the SmartCast® Wireless Sonar Link. Additional tabs and menu choices will be added to the menu s ystem automatically when an accessory is plugged into the unit.
User Mode (Normal or Advanced) - An Advanced Mode is pro vided for users who desire the highest level of control o ver the Matrix™ and Normal Mode for users who desire gr eater simplicity and fewer menu choices.
33 Simulator Use the Simulator to learn how t o use your Matrix™ before taking your boat on the water . The Simulator is a very powerful tool that simulates on the water operation, providing a randomly-updated display .
35 GPS Diagnostic View shows a sky chart and numerical data from the GPS receiver . The sky chart shows the location of each visible GPS satellite with its sat ellite number and a signal strength bar . A dark grey bar indicates that the satellit e is being used to determine your current position.
Side View (WideSide® T ransducer: WideSide® View Only) Side View sets which transducer beam from the WideSide® T ransducer is shown in the WideSide® View.
39 Side Beam Range (WideSide® T ransducer: WideSide® View Only) Side Beam Range sets the deepest range that will be displayed in the WideSide® View .
41 Navig ation X -Press™ Menu (Navigation Views Only) The Na vigation X -Press™ Menu provides access t o the set tings most frequently used. Press the MENU key once while in the Bird's Eye View , the Char t or the Combo View t o access the Navigation X -Press™ Menu.
43 Skip Next W a ypoint (Only When Navigating) Skip Next W aypoint remo ves the next waypoint fr om the current route. This menu c hoice will only appear when you are currently navigating a rout e. T o Skip Next W a ypoint: 1. Highlight Skip Ne xt W aypoint on the Navigation X -Press™ Menu.
45 Sonar Menu T ab Press the MENU key twice to access the Main Menu S ystem and then press the RIGHT Cursor key t o select the Sonar tab. NOTE: Menu choices will v ary depending on system set tings such as whether the unit is set for Advanced User mode or what transducer is currently selected.
47 Fish ID+™ Fish ID+™ uses advanced signal processing to int erpret sonar returns, and will display a Fish S ymbol when very selective requirements are met. When a fish is detected, a fish icon and its depth are displayed abo ve the return that has been classified as being a fish.
49 455 kHz Balance (Advanced: with Quadr aBeam™ T ransducer) 455 kHz Balance adjusts the sensitivity of the 45 5 kHz beam. Increasing the sensitivity will display additional weak returns and decreasing the sensitivity will display fewer weak returns.
51 Surface Clutter (Advanced) Surface Clutter adjusts the filter that r emoves surface clutter noise caused by algae and aeration. The lower the setting, the less surface clutter will be displayed. The Surface Clut ter menu choice is available when User Mode is set to Advanced (see Setup Menu T ab: User Mode ).
53 Navig ation Menu T ab Press the MENU key twice to access the Main Menu S ystem, then press the RIGHT cursor key t o select the Navigation tab. NOTE: Menu c hoices will vary depending on system set tings. Navigation Menu 52 Max Depth (Advanced) Max Depth adjusts the maximum depth of operation.
55 Routes Routes allows you to view the Rout es submenu. T o view the Routes Submenu: 1. Highlight Rout es on the Navigation main menu. 2. Use the RIGHT 4-W A Y Cursor Control k eys to view the Routes submenu.
57 Lat/Lon Grid Lat/Lon Grid allows you to display or hide a grid showing latitude and longitude lines. T o c hang e the La t/L on Grid setting: 1. Highlight Lat/Lon Grid on the Navigation main menu. 2. Use the LEFT or RIGHT 4-W A Y Cursor Control ke ys to change the Lat/L on Grid set ting.
59 Map Datum (Advanced) Map Datum allows you to change the map c oordinate system used by the Matrix™ t o match those of a paper map. T o c hang e the Map Da tum setting: 1. Make sure you are in Advanced User Mode, then highlight Map Datum on the Navigation main menu.
61 Alarms Menu T ab From any view , press the MENU key twice to access the Main Menu System. The Alarms tab will be the default selection. NOTE: When an alarm is triggered, you can silence it by pressing any key . The alarm will be silenced, and will not be triggered again until a new instance of the alarm condition is detected.
63 T emp Alarm T emp Alarm sounds when the water temperature detected by the Matrix™ 87c reaches the T emp Alarm setting, which is either set in degrees F ahrenheit or Celsius [International Models Only].
65 Alarm T one Alarm T one selects the pitch of the alarm sound. A brief tone will be produced as you adjust the Alarm T one so that you can select the tone that you can hear best. T o c hang e the Alarm T one set ting: 1. Highlight Alarm T one on the Alarms main menu.
67 Units - Depth Units - Depth selects the units of measure for all depth-related readouts. T o c hang e the Units - Depth setting: 1. Highlight Units - Depth on the Setup menu. 2. Use the LEFT or RIGHT 4-W A Y Cursor Control keys t o change the Units - Depth set ting.
69 T riplog R eset T riplog Reset resets the T riplog to zero . The T riplog provides the following information: timer for elapsed time, distance traveled since last reset, and average speed. NOTE: See Setup Menu T ab: Select Readouts (Advanced) to find out how to display T riplog information on the screen.
71 Depth Offset (Advanced) Depth Offset will adjust the digital depth readout to indicate depth fr om the waterline or boats keel. Enter a positive vertical measurement fr om the transducer to the waterline t o read the depth from the waterline. Ent er a negative vertical measurement from the transducer to k eel to read the depth from the keel.
73 Time Format (Advanced, International Only) Time Format changes the time format used by the unit This menu c hoice is available only when in Advanced User Mode (see Setup Menu T ab: User Mode.
75 Views Menu T ab From any view , press the MENU key twice to access the tabbed Main Menu System, then press the RIGHT 4-W A Y Cursor Contr ol key until the Views tab is selected. This menu tab allows you t o set the available views to either hidden or visible in the view rotation.
