T r ansom T ransducer Installation 1. Locating the T ransducer Mounting P osition NO TE: If transom mounting is not possible because of a stepped hull or ca vitation noise, and you have a single la yer fiberglass hull, In-hull installation is an option.

1b. If you do not kno w your transom angle, measure it using a plumb line (weighted nylon string or monofilament line) exactly 12 inches long. Hold the top of the plumb line against the top of the transom with your finger , and wait until the line hangs straight down.

4 . Align the mounting bracket tr ansducer assembly with the drilled holes in the transom. With a 5/16" sock et driver , mount the assembly to the transom using the two #10 - 1" long screws pr ovided (see the illustration Mounting the Assembly to the T ransom ).

CA UTION! Do not cut or shorten the transducer cable, and try not to damage the cable insulation. Route the cable as far as possible fr om any VHF radio antenna cables or tachometer cables to reduce the possibility of interfer ence. If the cable is too short, extension cables are av ailable to extend the transducer cable up to a total of 50'.

7. Locking Down the T ransducer (Optional) NO TE: Y ou have the option to lock down the T wo Piece Kick Up br acket if you do not want the transducer to kick up. Please be awar e, howe ver, that the tr ansducer can be damaged if it is locked down and it strikes debris in the water .
Inside the Hull T r ansducer Installation In-hull mounting generally produces good results in single-thickness fiberglass-hulled boats. Humminbird® cannot guar antee depth performance when transmitting and receiving thr ough the hull of the boat, since some signal loss occurs.
