9 2.2.2 Charging the Battery Before charging the b attery, ensure th at it has been prope rly inserted into your p hone. 1. Connect the USB cable that came wit h your mobile phone to the ch arger. 2. Connect the USB cable to your mobile pho ne. Then, plug in the connec tor of the charger to an electric al outlet.

When battery power is almost exhausted, your phone will power off automatically. 2.2.4 Battery Saving Tips The longevity of battery powe r depends on the network that you connec t to, and how you use your mob ile phone.
11 2.3. 2 Set Up Wiz ard The first time you po wer on your mobile phone, the ph one displays a setup wizard to help you set up the phone. The setup wizard he lps you: • Learn about your mo bile phone • Create or sign int o your account • Make some initial decisions a bout how you want to use y our mobile phone 2.
12 2.5 Locking a nd Unlocking the Screen 2.5.1 Locking the S creen • When your phone is on, press to lock the screen. When t he screen is locked, you can still receive mes sages and calls. • If your phone is idle for a while , the screen will lock automatically.

14 2.6.2 Notifications Panel Your mobile phone will notify you wh en you receive a new mess age or there is an upcoming event. The notifications panel als o informs you of alarms and settings, fo r example, you w ill be notified w hen Call forwarding is activated.

18 3.2 Answering or Re jecting a Call 3.2.1 Answering an Incoming Call When you receive a phone call, the incomin g call screen opens with the caller's na me and number that you have entered in Contacts . Drag the to the right to answer the ca ll.
19 3.3 Other Operation s During a Call 3.3.1 Making a Conferenc e Call If you receive a new call while yo u are already on a c all, you can connec t the second call to the call you are on. This feature is known as conference calling. You can also set up a conference call with multiple callers.
20 1. While you are on the first call an d the second ca ll comes in, answer the inco ming call, and then touch Swap . 2. The current call is placed on hold and you are connected to the first call. 3.4 Using Call log The Call lo g contains a list of calls that you ha ve dialed, received, or missed.
21 Touch > Contacts to open the Contacts application. All of your contacts are displaye d alphabetically in a list that you can scroll through. 4.2 Importing Co ntacts from a SIM Card 1. In the contact list, touch > Manage contacts . 2. Touch Copy from SIM card .
22 4.5 Editing a Co ntact You can make changes t o the information you have st ored for a contact at an y time. 1. In the contacts list, touch and hold the co ntact whose details y ou want to edit, and then touch Edit contact in the options menu.
23 2. Touch OK to confirm that you want t o delete the c ontact. 5 Using the Onscreen Keyboard 5.1 Displaying the Keyboard Panel To enter text, use the onsc reen keyboard. So me applications open the keyb oard automatically. In others, touch a text field to open the ke yboard.

26 Adding a Slideshow If you want to attach more than one file to you r message, use the Slideshow optio n. 1. On the message editing screen, tou ch t o display the option s panel. 2. Touch Attach > Slideshow , and then select a slide to start edit ing it.

29 7 Getting Connected 7.1 GPRS/3G Your mobile phone will be automatically configured to use your wireless service provider’s GPRS/3G/E DGE service (if available) wh en you turn on the phone for the first time. Note that the SIM card must be inserted.
30 7.2.2 Connecting to a W ireless Network 1. After turning on Wi-Fi, touch > Settings . 2. Touch Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi setti ngs . You will see a list of detected Wi-Fi networks in the Wi-Fi networks section. 3. Touch a Wi-Fi network to connect to it.
31 7.3.2 Sharing Your Pho ne’s Data Connection as a Portable Wi-F i Hots pot 1. Touch > Settings . 2. Touch Wireless & networks > Tethering & portable hotspot . 3. Select the Portable Wi-Fi hotspot check box to share yo ur data connection .

33 7.5 Bluetoo th Your mobile phone has Bluet ooth, which allows you to crea te a wireless connec tion with other Bluetooth devic es so you can share files with you r friends, talk hands- free with a Bluetooth headset , or even transfer phot os on your phone to you r PC.
34 7.5.3 Sending Files v ia Bluetooth With Bluetooth, you can sha re pictures, videos, or music files wit h your family and friends. To send files via Bluetooth, do as follows: 1. Touch and hold the file to be sent. The activ e options menu is displayed.
35 Capture Screen On the capture screen, touch to show the capture panel. 8.1. 2 Taking a Photo 1. Open your camera and switch to the camera mode . 2. If necessary, change the camera settings. The preview cha nges as you change the settings. 3. Compose your photo within the photo capture screen.
36 8.1.4 Recording a V ideo 1. Open the camera, and then switc h to camcorder mode. 2. If necessary, change the ca mcorder settings. 3. Frame the scene which you wa nt to start your video. 4. Touch to start recording a video. 5. Touch to stop recording.

39 8.4 Listening to FM Radi o FM Radio lets you listen to FM radio stations on your mobile phone. Since FM Radio uses the provided wire d stereo headset as the antenna, connect the headset first to the audio jack of your phone befor e you open the application.
40 9.1 Creating a Goog le Account If you do n ot have a Go ogle account, y ou can creat e one: 1. After reading the setup information, touc h Next . 2. Touch Create . 3. Enter a first name, last name, and use r name for your Google accou nt, and then touch Next .

You c an use it to communicate in real time with other people using Talk on a phone or on the web. 9.3.1 Opening Talk Touch > Talk to open the application. 47 10.1.1 Adding an Account When you add an account, Contacts compares contacts fr om the newly synchronised accoun t with contacts from your existing mobile phone accou nts and attempts to merge dup licates into a single entry in Contacts . While it is presented as a single contact entry, the con tact data itself is not merged.

49 11 Using Other Applications 11.1 Using the Calendar Use Calendar to create and manage events , meetings, and appointments. Depending on your sync hronisation sett ings, the calendar on yo ur phone can be synchronised w ith the inter net-based cale ndar you us e.
