6 2 Getting Started All the pictures in this guide are f or your reference only. Your phone’s actual display features may be diff erent to those describ ed here, depending on its software version.
7 • Using data services increa ses the power consu mption of the phone and will therefore reduce the lengt h of time that the phone can be used bet ween battery charges. • The time required to fully charge the batt ery depends on the ambient temper ature and the age of the battery.
8 If personal ident ification number (PIN) protection is enabled on y our mobile phone, you must enter your PIN befor e using the mobile phone. 2.4.2 Setting Up Your Mobile Ph one The first time you po wer on your mobile phone, the ph one displays a se tup wizard to help you set up the phone.
9 • Touch and hold : Touch an item with your finger and do not release it until the mobile phone responds . For example, to open the opti ons menu for the active screen, touch and hold t he screen until the menu appear s. • Flick : Move your finger eithe r vertically or horizontally across the screen.

15 2.9 Using a microSD Card 2.9.1 Using the microSD Card as a USB M a ss Storage To transfer all y our favorite mu sic and pictures from your PC to your mob ile phone’s microSD card, set the microSD card as a U SB mass storage. 1. Connect your mobile phone to your PC with the USB cable pro vided.

20 4.1 Opening the Co ntacts Application If you have n ot yet added any contac ts to your mob ile phone, Contacts displays a message with hint s on how to st art adding conta cts information. On the Home scre en, touch Contacts to open the Contacts application.
21 4.5 Searching fo r a Contact 1. In the contact list, touch > Search . 2. Enter the name of the contact you wish to search for. As you type , contacts with matching names ap pear below the search box . On the contact list screen, you can touch a letter on the right to display c ontacts starting with the touched let ter.

25 4.12 Joining and Separa ting Contacts You may have duplicate c ontacts if you import contact s by: • Adding an account, suc h as a Gmail account. • Using the social netw orking services su ch as Facebook or Twitt er. (If your phone has the Streams funct ion, you can use it to a ccess Facebook or Twitt er.
26 4.13 Sending Contacts You can send contacts as a .vc f file via Bluetooth or Email. 1. In the contacts list, touch . 2. Select contacts that you want to sen d. 3. Touch Send . 4. Select the way you prefer to send the c ontacts you have select ed, for example Bluetooth or Email.

To switch the keyboard layout , touch and hold one side of the key board panel, and then flick the panel to the edge of the scr een.

38 7.5 Bluetoo th Your mobile phone has Bluet ooth, which allows you to crea te a wireless connection with other Bluetooth devic es so you can share files with you r friends, talk hands- free with a Bluetooth headset, or even transfer photos from you r phone to your PC.
39 7.5.3 Sending Files v ia Bluetooth With Bluetooth, you can sha re pictures, videos, or music files wit h your family and friends. To send files via Bluetooth: 1. Touch and hold the file to be sent in your mobile phone or SD card. The active options menu is display ed.
