8 Quick Start Guide 4. Installing the SIM Car d and Battery Make sure your phone is turned off befor e installing the SIM card and battery. Y ou need to remo ve the back cov er before y ou can install the battery. T o install the SIM card 1. Slide open the QWERTY keyboard by pushing the front panel of the phone to the right.

10 Quick Start Guide T o install the battery Align the battery ’ s exposed copper contacts with the battery connectors inside the battery compar tment. Inser t the side of the battery with the contacts first and then gently push the battery into place.
Quick Start Guide 11 5. Charging the Ba ttery New batteries are shipped partially charged. Before y ou star t using your phone, it is r ecommended that you install and charge the battery. T o charge the batt ery Connect the USB connector of the AC adapter to the sync connector at the bottom of your phone.
12 Quick Start Guide Configure da ta connec tion settings After the phone restarts, you will be asked if you want t o automatically configure y our phone’ s data connections. By letting the phone configure the data connection settings, you do not need to enter the settings f or 3G/GPRS and W AP manually .

HTC Home lets you quickly access various information, applications, and settings on the phone. Slide open the keyboard while on the Home screen to open the T asks Screen.
