Operati ons 8 R emove the to wer bezel ( ML110 G6 servers) 1. Remove the ac cess panel (o n page 7 ). 2. To release th e bezel, push the left side o f the bezel. 3. Release the tab s, then tur n the bezel co unter - c lockwise to remove it. To replace th e compo nent, reverse the rem oval proc edure.
Setup 9 Se t up O ptional insta llation services Delivered by exp erienced, certifi ed engineers, HP C are Pack ser vices help you keep you r servers up and running with support packages tailored specifically for HP ProLiant systems. HP Care Packs let you integ rate both hardware and software support into a single package.
Setup 10 In a tower configuration, leave at least a 7.6 - cm (3.0 - in) clearance space at the front and back of the server for proper ventilation. Rack server To allow for servicing and ad equate airflow, observe the following space and a irflow requirements when deciding wh ere to install a rack: • Leave a minimum clearance of 63.
Setup 11 CAUTION: To reduce the risk of damage to the equipment when installing third - party options: • Do not permit optional equipment to impede airflow around the server or to increase the internal rack temperature beyond the maximum allowable limits.
Setup 12 R ack warnings WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury or da mage to the equipment, be sure that: • The leveling jacks a re exten ded to the fl oor. • The full weight of the rac k rests on the leveling jacks. • The stabilizing feet are attached to the rack if it is a single - rack installation.

Hardware options i nstallation 21 13. Power u p the server (on page 7 ). M emory opti ons (ML 110 G6 se rvers) The memory sub system in th is server suppor ts UDIMM s. In this sec tion, the term "DIMM" is used. W hen specified as UDIMM, the information applies to that type only.
Hardware options i nstallation 22 IMPO RTAN T: This server d oes not support mixing RDIMMs and UDIMMs. Attempting to m ix these two types causes the server to halt during BIOS initialization. The memory sub system may be popul ated with eith er RDIMMs or UDIM Ms, but m ixing the two types is n ot supported.
Hardware options i nstallation 23 • Two DIMMs (interleaving) install in slo t 2 and slot 4 f or optimal performance. M emory opti ons (ML 150 G6 se rvers) IMPO RTAN T: This server does not support mixing RDIM Ms and UDIMMs. Attempting to mix these two types causes the server to halt during BIOS initialization.
Hardware options i nstallation 24 Dual - and qu ad - rank DIMMs provide the greatest capacity with the existing memory technology. Fo r example, if current DRAM technology supports 2 - GB single - rank DIMMs, a dual - rank DIMM would be 4 - GB, and a quad - rank DIMM would be 8 - GB.

If the requested AMP mode is not supported by the installed DIMM configuration, the serv er boots in Adv anced ECC mode.
