Back to TOC Scanning from HP Pre cisionscan Pro 5 3 C hecking for clipped areas The light est or d arkest are as of an i mage that wil l print without any detai l in them are known as clipped areas. The lightest areas, or highligh ts, will prin t as the color of the p aper (without ink or toner) and therefor e will have no deta il.
54 Sc anning from HP Precisionsc an Pro Back to TOC Setting pix el output le v els The output levels set ting lets you creat e interesting ef fects for scanned pictures. When you select this command, the Black and White output levels appear . By default, white is set to 255, and bla ck is set to 0.

Back to TOC Scanning from HP Pre cisionscan Pro 5 7 C hanging t he blac k and w h it e threshold Changing the black and white thr eshold only applies to image s using the Black & White Bitmap output typ e. The threshold is a value in the image that represent s the border between black and white.

It allows you to create spe cial eff ects, or to correct for orig inals on col ored p aper .

When you fi rst scan an i tem, the scanner chooses the default s for output type and reso lution, and you do not need to change them.
