EN Control Panel Menus 3-11 R ET=ME D IUM OFF LIGHT MEDI UM DARK Use the printer’ s Resolution Enhancement technolog y (REt) setting to produce print with smooth angles, curves, and edges. REt does not aff ect print quality when the print resolution is set to ProRes 1200.
3-12 Printer Operation EN TONE R D E NSITY =3 1 2 3 4 5 Lighten or darken the print on the page by changing the toner density setting. The settings range from 1 (light) to 5 (dark), but the def ault setting of 3 usually produces the best results. Use a lower toner density setting to sav e toner.

If the printer contains an HP JetDirect print ser ver EIO card, y ou can configure basic networking parameters using the EIO Menu.
3-28 Printer Operation EN CFG TCP/IP=NO NO YES NO : The TCP/IP Menu is not accessible . YES : The TCP/IP Menu appears. In the TCP/ IP Menu, y ou can specify BOOTP=Y E S fo r TCP/IP parameters to be automatically loaded from a bootp or DHCP server when the printer is tur ned on.
EN Control Panel Menus 3-29 Resets Menu Use this menu with caution. Y ou can lose b uff ered page data or printer configuration settings when you select these items . Only reset the printer under the follo wing circumstances: ● Y ou want to restore the printer’ s default settings .
3-30 Printer Operation EN Service Mode Ser vice Mode should be used only by authorized service personnel. While in Ser vice Mode, y ou can: ● V er ify and set the page count and serial number . These are displa yed on the Configur ation P age. ● Set the Cold Reset Def ault.

If it is necessar y to replace the F ormatter PCA, the page count should be set to the current va lue to reflect the age of the print engine.

EN Testing the Printer 3-35 T esting the Printer When you print a Configuration P age, the printer checks its internal controller and I/O interf ace, and then prints a test page. Y ou can re vie w the Configuration P age pr intout to verify proper installation of such options as paper tra ys or printer languages.
3-36 Printer Operation EN Resetting the Printer Cold Reset Cold Reset clears all data from the printer memor y and sets all the def aults back to the f actor y settings.

The low-v oltage power supply divides the A C v oltage to +24 VDC , +5 VDC and +3.

EN Power Supply System 5-7 T oner Car t ridge Detection The T oner Car tridge has a toner sensor . The circuit compares the output value of the de veloping A C bias and the output value (ANT) from the antenna inside the car tr idge, and outputs the toner detection signal.
