6 I NTRODUCTION Labels Every MS9590 and M S9591 ha s a serial number label lo cated on the u nderside of the scann er head an d molded text on the scanner h andle. The labe l and molded tex t provide importa nt infor mation suc h as the un it’s date of manuf acture, serial numb er, CE and cauti on informat ion.

8 S CANNER I NSTALLATION RS485 (-1 06) 1. Turn off the host devi ce . 2. Plug the 1 0 - pin RJ45 end of th e MVC cable into the 10 - pin socket on the scann er. There will be an audible cli ck when the connect or lock engage s. 3. Connect th e other end of the MVC cable to the host device.

19 I NDICATORS Visua l Each MS9 5 90 series scanner has three LED indicat ors ( blue , white, an d yellow) located on th e head of the s canner . When the scanner is in opera tion , the flashing, or stationar y activity of the LEDs indic ates the st atus of the scanner and the cur rent s can .
