Introduction xi I NTRODUCTION Your new scanner has been configured at the fa ctory with a set of default communication protocols. Since many host systems have unique formats and protocol requirements, Metrologic provides a wide range of configurabl e features that may be selected with the use of this bar code configuration guide.
Bar Code Configuration Meth ods xii B AR C ODE C ONFIGURATION M ETHODS Metrologic scanners can be bar code configured in two ways: the Single-Code Method and the M ulti-Code Method . Single-Code Meth od Most features can be enabled or disabled using the Single-Code Method.
Need to Start Over? xiii N EED TO S TAR T O VER ? Scan the Recall Default bar code. This will erase all previous settings and return to the scanner’s default communications protocol. • Keyboard Wedge interface scanners will load keyboard wedge defaults.
