5 M OUNTIN G THE MS7600 S ERIES There are thr ee options for mounting your M S7600. Option “A” uses a she lf to support the un it. Option B lets t he unit hang free in the counter t op. Option C lets the unit hang free in the counter top w ith the use of a stainle ss steel trim ring for support .

Connect th e round end of th e PowerLink RS23 2 AUX cable [ MLP N 54-54667A] to the RS232 jack o f the secondary scanner ( see f igure 20 ). 3. Connect th e other end of the PowerLink RS232 AU X cab le into t he 3 rd jack down from th e top of the MS 7600 .
17 I NSTALLATION OF A S ECONDARY S CANNER 11. Scan the follo wing bar code to conf igure the auxi liary port on the MS7600 to accept a Metrologic scanner as the secondary sc anner. The following bar codes do not apply when using an MS6720 as a secondary scanner.

20 M AINTENANCE Smudges and dirt can interfere with the pr oper s canning of a bar cod e. Therefore, t he output window will need occasiona l cleaning. For the M S7600 glass window: 1. Spray glass cleaner onto li nt free, n on-abras ive clean ing cloth.
21 S CANNER L ABELS Each scanner has a label on the bottom of the unit. T he label contains information such as the model number, dat e of manufacture, serial number, and caution information. An additional cauti on label is located under the top plat e.
22 A UDIBLE I NDICATORS When the M S7600 scanner is in o peration, it provides audib le feedb ack. T hese sounds ind icate the statu s of the sc anner. Ei ght sett ings are av ailabl e for the tone of the be ep (normal, 6 alternat e tones and no t one) plu s three vol ume settings.
23 V ISUAL I NDICATORS There is a red LED and amber LED on the front of the M S7600. When the s canner i s on, the flash ing or constant il luminat ion of the LEDs indicate s the status of the current scan and the scan ner.

31 T ROUB LESH OOTING G UIDE (C ONTINUED ) SYMPTOMS POSSIBLE CAUSE(S) SOLUTION Scanning a particular symbology that i s not enabled. UPC/EAN, Code 39, interleaved 2 of 5, Code 93, Code 128 and Codabar are enabled by default. Verify that the type of bar code being rea d has be en select ed.
