5 Cautions on HDD Save the data recorded on HDD: • T o ba ck up the data recorded on HDD, save it on a DVD . It is also recommended t hat you use this DVD video camera/r ecorder to dub th e data. Y ou can also use a PC to sav e the data on a DVD. • It is recommended that you periodically save your recor dings.

8 Do not turn the D VD video camera/recorder off while th e A CCESS/PC indicator or CARD A CCESS indicator is lit or blinking: • The ACCESS/PC or CARD ACCESS indicator is lit or blinking to show that data is being written to disc or car d, or being read from it.
9 Cautions When Storing Do not leave the D VD video camera/re cor der in a place where the temperature is very high for a long period of time: • The temperatur e inside a closed vehicle o r trunk can becom e very high in a hot season. If yo u leave the DVD video camera/r ecorder in such a place, it could malfun ction or the case could be damaged.
10 CLEANING Be sure to set the power switch to “OFF” before c leaning th is D VD video cam era/recorder . ● Cleaning LCD screen and camera lens Use dry , soft cloth to wipe dirt off.
11 DISC CLEANING Use the disc cleaning cloth pr ovided to lightly wipe off an y dirt adhering to t he disc as shown in the figur e. Do not wipe the disc with force: Doing so could cause scratches. Never use solven t (thinner , water , antistat or detergent) for cleaning.

28 Pr eparations fo r Power Supply USING D VD VIDEO CA MERA/RECORDER WITH A C AD APTER/CHARGER It is recommen ded that you use the AC adapter/char ger to power the DVD video camera/recor der from household AC out let when you perform settings on it, play back or edit images, or use it indoors.

Here is an explanation on “scen e” and “program”, so that you wil l be able to make most use of Disc Navigation functi on.

84 Dubbing on DVD This DVD video camera/recor der allows you to ch oose the desir ed method when dubbing images recor ded on HDD to a DVD: “Ne w”: T o dub scenes r ecorded on HDD to a DVD, without dubbed marks appearing, beginning with the first scene without dubbed mark.
85 • If you w ant to dub only the scenes with dubbed marks , "Category" in HDD setting should be designated (see page 114). • Marks will appear f or the thumbnails of the scenes which have bee n once dubbed. If the marks make the thu mbnails difficult to see, y ou can tur n off the marks (see page 88).
86 4 Replace the DVD. If one disc cannot contain all scenes, the screen for verifyin g DVD replacement will appear . T o continue dubbing, press the DISC EJECT button, and then replace the DVD : Dubbing will restar t from the scene following. T o stop dubbing, press the C (stop/cancel ) button.
87 DUBBING ALL SCENES RECORDED ON H DD (DUBBING “ALL ”) Y ou can dub all scenes record ed on the HDD to a DVD from the beginning in sequence. If the scenes cannot be included on one DVD, coun t the capacity siz e of scenes, and dub the scenes that can be stored on the DVD.
88 SELECTING SCENES RECORDED ON HDD AND DUBBIN G THEM (SCENE “SELECT” DUBBING) Y ou can select desired scenes r ecorded on HDD and dub only those scenes on DVDs.
89 Scene 1<3 DELETING SCENES (EDIT – DELETE) Y ou may want to delete unwanted scenes. Scenes on DVD-RW (VF-mode)/DVD-R cannot be d eleted, and menu item “Delete” will not appear with DVD-R W (VF-mode)/DVD-R.
