6 HOW T O SET UP YOUR NEW HIT ACHI PROJECTION TV CAUTION: Magnetic fields, such as those of external speakers, may cause the picture to distort if they are placed too close to the television. Move the magnetic field source away from the television until there is no picture distortion.
7 HOOK-UP CABLES AND CONNECTORS ANTENNA CONNECTIONS TO REAR JACK P ANEL VHF (75-Ohm) antenna/CA TV (Cable TV) When using a 75-Ohm coaxial cable system, connect the outdoor antenna or CA TV coaxial cable to the ANT A (75-Ohm) terminal. If you have a second antenna or cable TV system, connect the coaxial cable to the ANT B terminal.

11 REAR P ANEL JACKS Antenna Input/Output The remote control allows you to switch between two separate 75-Ohm RF antenna inputs, ANT A and ANT B. ANT A input can be displayed as a main picture or sub-picture. ANT B can only be displayed as a main picture (ANT B cannot be displayed as a sub-picture).
12 REAR P ANEL JACKS Component: Y -P B P R Inputs Inputs 1 and 2 provide Y -P B P R jacks for connecting equipment with this capability , such as a DVD player or Set T op Box. Y ou may use composite video signal for INPUT :2. NOTES: 1. Do not connect composite VIDEO and S-VIDEO to Input 3, 4 or 5 at the same time.

14 TIPS ON REAR P ANEL CONNECTIONS • S-VIDEO connections are provided for high performance laserdisc players, VCRs etc. that have this feature. Use these con- nections in place of the standard video connection if your device has this feature.
15 CONNECTING EXTERNAL AUDIO DEVICES To control the audio level of an external audio amplifier with the remote control, connect the system as shown below.

21 THE REMOTE CONTROL In addition to controlling all the functions on your HIT ACHI Projection TV , the new remote control is designed to operate different types of VCRs, CA TV (Cable TV) converters, set-top-box, satellite receiver , DVD players, and other audio/video equipment with one touch.
22 HOW T O USE THE REMOTE T O CONTROL YOUR TV POWER button Press this button to turn the TV set on or of f when the remote is in TV mode (see page 19 for instructions on how to set the r emote control to TV mode). TV button When the TV button is pressed, it will blink, to indicate the remote is in TV mode.

PICTURE-IN-PICTURE (PIP) 28 SPLIT MODE PICTURE-IN-PICTURE Split Mode PIP displays the main picture and sub-picture evenly on the screen. SW AP button (with PIP ON) Press this button to toggle between the Main and Sub picture which is highlighted with a green border around the picture.
29 PICTURE-IN-PICTURE (PIP) FREEZE button (With PIP ON) If you wish to freeze the sub-picture, press the FREEZE button. This is convenient when trying to write down the address for a mail order company , recording statistics for a sporting event, etc.

AUDIO 44 Sound Enhancement The following surround settings will reproduce the “live” sound you would hear in concert halls, sports stadiums, movie theaters, etc.
45 ASPECT Aspect Mode Auto Aspect Automatically adjust the Aspect Ratio depending on the input signal to fill the screen. Press THUMB STICK , , , , to select menu item. Press down on THUMBSTICK to select. A “ ” in the box indicates that the feature is ON.
CHANNEL MANAGER 46 Select ANTENNA if you are using an indoor or outdoor antenna. Select Cable if you have cable TV . Use THUMB STICK , to highlight the correct Channel Source. Press the THUMB STICK to select highlighted source. Press EXIT to quit the menu.
CHANNEL MANAGER 47 This feature will automatically store active TV channels in Auto Channel Scan. This will allow you to skip unused channels when using CHANNEL UP ( ) or DOWN ( ). If the EXIT button is pressed while AUT O CHANNEL SCAN f un ction is engaged, programming will stop.

CHANNEL MANAGER 49 This section contains advanced features which will make TV viewing easier and more enjoyable. Use this feature to give up to 20 channels a name when ANTENNA signal source is selected and up to 60 chan- nels a name when CA TV signal source is selected.
50 LOCKS This function will block out the picture and sound of the selected channel or video input. It can also be used to keep the TV from being viewed for a scheduled time period that you set. The code to enter the Locks feature is a four digit secret code number .
51 LOCKS Use MOVIE RA TINGS to prevent viewing of any movie that you feel may be inappropriate due to its content. Use THUMB STICK or to select the MOVIE RA TING category that you want to block. Press SELECT to block the MOVIE RA TING that you have selected.
