18 Input and Output Jac ks Description Connector Function 4-IN-1 (A V , A V IN) Use the included 4-IN-1 A/ V cable to connect exte rnal devices, such as a VCR, VCD, DVD player , CVBS RCA cables or a game device. Audio Input: A V connector audio (white and red) cables.
19 R emote Control Description Icon Function Menu Press this button to activ ate the OSD menu system and to adjust va rious settings and personal preferences. Arrow S / T / W / X / < / > Press S / T / W and X to scroll through the on-scre en display menus.
20 Mute Press this button to eliminate sound. Press mute again or press the volume adjust buttons to restore sound. Select channel Changes channels. Press channel up to increase the channel n umber . Press channel down to decrease the channel number .
21 Inser ting the Remote Control Batter y /Batteries Lithium battery/batteries 1 Open the battery comp artment cover at the back of the remote con t rol (A). 2 Slide the battery/batteries, with th e positive (+) side facing up, underneath the shorter set of metal c ontacts (B).
22 AAA battery/batteries 1 Open the battery comp artment cover at the back of the remote con t rol (A). 2 Insert the battery / batter ies paying attention to the pola rity markings inside the battery compartment ( B ). 3 Replace the battery comp artment cover (C).
23 CAUTION • If the remote control is not used fo r a long period, remove the batteries and store them separately . • Handle damaged or leaking batteries carefully , and wash hand s after such handli ng. • If your remote control ha s two batteries, do not mix new and old batteries because the life of the new batteries will be shortened .
24 8 Making Connections Connecting to an Antenna or Cable TV 1 Connect one end of the VHF/UHF (Antenna) or CA T V cable to ANT Jack (VHF/UHF IN Jack) on the back of the TV . 2 Connect the other en d of the VHF/ UHF (Antenna) or CA TV cable to the antenna socket or CA TV cable.
25 Connecting to A V De vices Connect external device s such as a VC R, VCD, DVD player , or video game console to the TV using the supplied 4-IN-1 A/V cab le. Connecting to a V CR/VCD/DVD Player The illustration presented here shows how to connect the TV to a VCR, VCD or DVD player .
26 Connecting to a Video Camera The instructions presented he re are a general guide to connecting the TV to a camcorder or other type of digit al camera. Actual connections may vary according to the make and model of the de vice. Refer to the user ’s m anual included with the camcorder or camera for more detailed instructions.
27 Connecting to a Video Game Consol e The instructions presented he re are a general guide to connecting the TV to a game console using the RCA Jacks (some ga me devices may require a unique adapter that is not prov ided). Actual connections may vary according to the make and model of the game de vice.
28 Connecting Exter nal Speak er s or Headphones External speakers or head phones may be us ed to listen to the TV rather than using the built- in speakers. Connect external speakers to the spea ker line out port or head phones to the headpho ne port as illustrated.
29 Connecting the P owe r Adapter 1 Connect the power cord to the power adapter as illustrated. 2 Plug the power adapter connector in to the DC-IN input jack on the rear panel of the TV . 3 Insert the three-pronged plug at the other end of the power cord into a powe r outlet.
30 9 Using the TV Using the Remote Co ntrol For best results, use the remote contr ol within a distance of 16 feet (5 meters) from the front of the TV . Do not exceed an angle of 30 deg rees when pointin g at the TV. Notes • The operational distance may be shortened wh en the signal sensor is directly expose d to strong light.
31 10 Adjusting On-Screen Display (OSD) Settings The On-Screen Display (OSD) menu system provides a quick and simple method to adjust your TV’s settings. This chapter describ es how to change each of the available settings. The OSD can be used with either the remote control or the control pan e l.
32 Note T o exit the OSD menus, press channel up or channel down to select Exit . Then press menu to exit the OSD menus. Also, after you finish setting OSD parameters, follow these instructions to exit the OSD menus. OSD Setting Menu Press m en u to enter the OSD menus.
33 Brightness 1 Press menu to enter the OSD menus. 2 Press me nu ag a in and the brightness slide bar appears. 3 Press channel up to incr ease the brightness. 4 Press channel down to decrease the brightness. 5 Press me nu to confirm the setting and return to the Main menu.
34 Contrast 1 Press menu to enter the OSD menu s. 2 Press channel up or channel down to select Contrast. 3 Press m en u . The contrast slide bar appears. 4 Press channel up to increase the contrast. 5 Press channel down to decrease the contrast. 6 Press me nu to confirm the setting and return to the Main menu.

36 Hue 1 Press menu to enter the Hue me nu. 2 Press channel up to increase the hue towards the red spectrum. The image becomes more red. 3 Press channel down to decrease the hue towards the green spectrum. The image becomes more green. 4 Press me nu to confirm the setting and return to the V ideo Setting menu.
37 Saturation 1 Press channel up or channel down to select Saturation. 2 Press m en u to enter the Saturation menu. 3 Press channel up to increase the saturation. The screen image becomes more vibrant. 4 Press channel down to decrease the saturation. The screen image becomes less vibrant.
38 Sharpness 1 Press channel up or channel down to select Sharpness. 2 Press m en u to enter the Shar pness menu. 3 Press channel up to increase the sharpness. 4 Press channel down to decrease the sharpness. 5 Press m en u again to confirm the setting and return to the Video Setting menu .
39 Color T emperature 1 Press channel up or channel down to select Color . 2 Press m en u to enter the Color menu. The following three color temperatures are available. St andard Color Press channel up or channel down to select S tandard, then press m en u.
40 Audio Setting Press m en u to enter the OSD menus. 1 Press channel up or channel down to select Audio Setting. 2 Press m en u to enter the Audio Setting menu.
41 Tr e b l e 1 Press menu to enter the T reble menu. 2 Press channel up to increase the treble. 3 Press channel down to decrease the treble. 4 Press me nu to confirm the setting and return to the Audio Setting menu. Note The new setting is confir med automatically when the OSD times out.
42 Bass 1 Press channel up or channel down to select Bass. 2 Press m en u to enter the Bass menu. 3 Press channel up to increase the bass. 4 Press channel down to decrease the bass. 5 Press me nu to confirm the setting and return to the Audio Setting menu.
43 Balance 1 Press channel up or channel down to select Balance. 2 Press m en u to enter the Balance menu. 3 Press channel up to shif t the balance to the right speaker . 4 Press channel down to shift the balance to the left speaker . 5 Press me nu to confirm the setting and return to the Audio Setting menu.

47 Auto Program 1 Press channel up or channel down to select Auto Pro gram. 2 Press m en u to enter the Auto Program menu. 3 Press channel up or channel down to select Y es or No. 4 P re s s menu. Channel indicator values r ange from 2 to 69 (antenna connection) or from 1 to 125 (CA TV cable connection).
48 Manual Program This function allows you to search pr eset channels or to erase previously preset chan nels. 1 Press channel up or channel down to select Manual Program. 2 Press m en u to enter the Man ual Program menu. 3 Press channel up or channel down to find the channel you want to add.
49 Channel Add/Erase After yo u found a channel using Manual Program, follow the following instruction to add or erase the chann el. 1 Press channel up or channel down to select CH. Add/Erase. 2 Press m en u to enter the CH. Add/Erase menu. Sele ct one of the following options.
50 Miscellaneous Setting Press m en u to enter the OSD menus. 1 Press channel up or channel down to select Miscellaneous Setting. 2 Press m en u to enter the Miscellaneous Settin g menu.
51 OSD Position 1 Press menu to enter the OSD Position menu. The following option s are available. Horizont al Position 1 Press menu. 2 Press channel down to move the OSD screen to the lef t. Press channel up to move the OSD screen to the right. 3 Press menu to confirm the setting.
52 Language 1 Press channel up or channel down to select Language. 2 Press menu to enter the Language menu. The screen displays the available OSD languages: English and Español. 3 Press channel up or channel down to select a language. 4 Press m enu to confirm your choice.
53 Sleeper The Sleeper turns the TV off automatically af ter a set period of time. 1 Press channel up or channel down to select Sleep. 2 Press m en u to enter the Sleep menu.
54 OSD Display When set to Off, the OSD disp lay (source data on top left corner of th e TV screen) tu rns off after approximat ely 5 seconds. When se t to On, the OSD does not turn off automatically . 1 Press channel up or channel down to select OSD Display .
55 Reset The Reset function returns all of your TV’s user settings to their factory defaults. W arning: The reset function will erase all of your custom set tings, and will reset all display settings (s uch as contrast, brightnes s, etc.) to the factory default values.
56 11 T aking Care of Y our TV & R emote Control Note Protect the remote control from shock or vib ration to avoid damage. Do not place th e remote control in hot or hu mid locations. T urn the power off before you begin cleaning the TV. For best results, use a clean lens cloth to remove dust and fingerprint s from the screen.
57 12 T roubleshooting Situation Solution No picture and sound. • Connect the power cord properly . • Check if the p ower LED is on or not. • Press power on the control panel or remote control. • Press source to cycle thr ough connected video sources.
58 Cannot operate menus. • If OSD items are color ed in light blue, the system is in a state such that those settings are not available. Screen image turns over . • Make sure the video signal cable is connected properly . Snow appears on the screen.
