Page 66 Common Ta sks To display a category of records: 1. Tap the cat egory pick list in the uppe r-right corner of the li st screen. 2. Select the category you wa nt to view. The list screen now disp lays only the records assigned to that cate gory.

Tap the category pick list in the upper-right corner of the screen. 2. Tap Edit Categories. 3. Select the category that you want to ren ame, and then t ap Rename.
Page 68 Common Ta sks ■ PhoneBook : The Instant Lookup feature lets you scroll immediately to a Contacts record in PhoneBook by entering the first few letters of a first or last name , or the first name initi al and the first few letters of a last name.

Tip: If you select text in an application before you opening the Find dialog box, the selected text automatical ly appears i n the Find di alog box.

Chapter 5 Page 73 Making records private In all PIM ap plications, except E xpense, you can make i ndividual records private. Private records remain visibl e and a ccessible, how ever, until you select the Securi ty setting to hi de or mas k all private records.

A note can b e up to several thousa nd characters long. For example, for an appo intment in Date Book Plus, you can attach a n ote with direction s to the location.

Chapter 5 Page 77 Performi ng a HotSync oper ation for the first time The first ti me you synch ronize your d ata, you nee d to enter user information on both the communicator and Palm Desktop softwa re.

Tip: You can keep your Speed Di al list organized by storing different type s of numbers on different pages.
Chapter 6 Page 85 Adding Contacts list entries to your Speed Dial list To save t ime while creati ng your Speed D ial list, you can add entries from your Con tacts list. To add an entry from your Contac ts list to your Speed Dial list: 1. Tap a blank Speed Dial bu tton.

Chapter 6 Page 97 Other ways to make a call In addition to usi ng the Speed Dial, Contacts , and Dial Pad views, yo u can also place calls in the follo wing way s: ■ Redialing t he last number ■ Returning a missed call ■ Dialing an emergency number Redialing the last number You can redi al the last number you called.
Page 98 Application -Specific Tasks Calling an emergency number Your Treo provides easy access to emergency numbers such as 911 in the United States or 112 in Europe. You don’t n eed to unlock your SIM card or even have the SIM card i nstalled to ca ll an emergency number.

Page 100 Application -Specific Tasks Purging Call History Your Treo contin ues accumulati ng Call Histo ry information fo r up to 1,000 calls until y ou purge the Call History list. To conserve storage spa ce, we recommend that you purge this list periodicall y.

If you select this check box, the Co ntacts list sh ows the last category you selected. If y ou clear it, the Contacts li st displays the All category.

When you manual ly select a network, your Treo finds only that network until you eith er choose another ne twork, or enable Automatic Reselecti on.
