1-1 1. INST ALLA TION 1.1 D isplay Unit DS-600 Mounting consideration The display unit can be installed on a desktop, on the underside of a table, or flush mounted in a panel. When you select a mounting location, keep in mind the following poin ts: • Locate the display unit a way from exhaust pipes and vents.
1. INSTALLATION 1-2 Note: Dimensions for the cutout are different depending on the mounting location, indoor or out- door. For the outdoor mouting, ask dockyard t o co nstruct a waterproof case for the display unit. 2. Make four pilot holes for self-t apping screws (diameter: 5 mm) in the location indicated in the illustration on page 1-1.

1. INSTALLATION 1-4 1.2 T ransceiver Unit DS-620 Installation considerations • Since the transceiver unit generates heat, inst all it in a dry , well-ventilated place. The cooling fans at the top of the unit must not be ob structed, to allow heat to escape.
1. INSTALLATION 1-5 1.3 D istributor Unit DS-610 The distributor unit can be mounted on th e deck or on a bulkhead. Consider the following po ints when selecting a mounting location. • Select a location which is both well ventilat ed and low in humidity to keep the unit cool.
1. INSTALLATION 1-6 1.4 T ransducer The performance of this equipment is dire ctly dependent on the installation of the transducer. The installation of the transducer and the tank must be accomplished by a dockyard referring to the installation drawings at the later part of th is manual.
1. INSTALLATION 1-7 1.4.2 Installation using the transducer tank DS-660 Transducer tank DS-660, se ctional view 1. Remove flange (4), fixing plate (5), fixin g gland (6), washer (7) and gasket (8) from the tank. 2. Set the tank to the place which was selected at paragraph 1.

Use M16 nut (1 1), spring washer (12) and flat washer (13) to fix the transducer (1) w/fixing plate to the fixing flange (4). 10.For the transducer DS-631, do the following step s: 1) Att ach the grommet (supplied) to the locatio n marked with a white line on the transducer cable.
1. INSTALLATION 1-9 5) Attach the met al fixing (supplied) to the connector , and use two bolt s M6x20 and spring washers M6 to fix them. 1 1.Pass the fixing gland (6), washer (7) and gasket (8) through the transduce r cable (DS-631: cable assy), and slide them to the white line on the cable.
1. INSTALLATION 1-10 13.Use the tightening handle (option ) to fasten the fixing gland (6) from the inside of the t ank (2). The distance b etween the bottom of the fixing gland (6) and t ank must be less than 15 mm. Transducer tank, sectional view 14.

1. INSTALLATION 1-12 2. Set the sp acer (3) to the place selected at paragraph 1 .4.1. The “FORE-AFT” line on the sp acer must be parallel with the ship's fore an d aft line (within 3 ° ). For horizont al direction, the bottom of the spacer must be p arallel with the ship's draft.
1. INSTALLATION 1-13 9. Pass the gasket (8), flat washer (7) and fixing gland (1 1) thr ough the transducer cable. 10.Fasten the fixing gland (1 1) to the top of the shaft (6). The height between the top of the fixing gland (1 1) and the top of the shaf t (6) must be less than 7 mm.
1. INSTALLATION 1-14 14.Fasten M20 hex. nut (17) and spring washer (18) loosely to th e stud bolt of the spacer (3). 15.Apply grease (supplied) to both sides o f the gasket 2 (5), and set it on the gate valve (2). 16.Use hex. nut (17), spring wash er (18) and hex.

1. INSTALLATION 1-16 1.5 Junction Box DS-640 (option) Installation considerations The junction box forms a joint between the distributor and the transceiver unit, and extends the distance between them t o max.
1. INSTALLATION 1-17 1.6 Inst allation of Display Unit with DS-605 (W ater Proof Box, option) For installation of the display unit o n the wings of the bridge, use the optional water proof box DS- 605. Fix the DS-605 on the bulkhead and set th e display unit therein.

1. INSTALLATION 1-20 How to change orientation of the front cover of DS-605 The front cover o f the DS-605 can be oriented up, down, right or left. To change the orientation of the front cover, do the following. Note: Set the front cover so the FURUN O logo on the cover is right side up.

2. WIRING 2-8 2.4 Junction Box (DS-640, option) The optional Junctio n Box DS-640 permits extension of the cable connect ed between the Junction Box and the Transce iver Unit up to maximum of 500 m. Fabricate two TTYCY-4S and DPYCY-4 cables as shown below.
