1 1. Mounting NO TICE Do not apply paint, anti-corrosive sealant or contact spray to coating or plastic parts of the equipment. Those items contain organic solvents that can damage coating and plastic par ts, especially plastic connectors.

5 1.1.4 Contr ol unit On blackbox type, fix the control unit to the mounting plate (supplied as accessories). See the parts list of FP06-01 120 and outline drawings at the bac k of this manual. 1. Fix the mounting plat e to the place selec ted with two tapping screws (5x20 , supplied).
6 1.2 T ranscei v er Unit 1.2 .1 Gener a l mounting cons iderations • The mounting location should be w ell ventilated and dry . • The unit can be mounted on bulkhead or the deck. • Secure the maintenance sp ace shown in draw ing below f or ease of maint enance and service.

8 For small FRP ship For small FRP ship retraction tan k should be 2 degrees against ship’ s draft. T herefore, this creates high water pressure in the tank because o f the resistance at t he rear of the tank well. T o solve this problem, attach a fin to the hull at the l ocation shown in figure below .

11 4. Full y screw main shaft in to the soundome neck, and then unsc rew by four turns. Coat threads with adhesive (HIGH SUPER). Main Shaft Grasp the soundome nec k with a wrench, and tighten the shaft with a pipe wrench. Coat threads with adhesiv e (HIGH SUPER).

If the gap at a side is more than 0.5 mm, install a shim to make the g ap within 0.5 mm. a) Unscr ew f our M10x50 bolts. b) Unscr ew f our countersunk screw s, then attach the shim w ith the countersunk screws as shown below . 13 The table below show s tank length and necessary shim t hickness. In addition, the shim thickness shown is f or one side. For ex ample, when cutting the 1800 mm tank to 800 m m, the tank inside diameter is 191.25 mm, shim thick ness is 2 .5 mm as shown the table in below .

15 11. Face the bow mark on the soundome w ith the bow mark on the sha ft sleeve, and then fix the main shaft with and sha ft r etainer . 12. 17 CAUTION Keep oil away from eyes. Where protective goggles when working with the oil. The oil cause inflammation of the eyes. Do not touch the oil. The oil can cause inflammation of the skin. Wear protective gloves when working with the oil. Do not ingest the oil.
18 When the soun dome is p ainted to keep marine life o ff the transd ucer , observe the fo llowing precaution s: • Use only anti-fouling paint type M ARINE ST AR 20 ( Manufacture: Chugoku Marine Paint Co., Ltd., Japan). • Paint only the plastic portion of the dome.

21 1.4 Interface Unit For the blackbox type, the interface unit is shipped as st andard. 1.4 .1 Gener a l mounting cons iderations • The mounting location should be w ell ventilated and dr y , avoiding splay or rain. • The unit can be mounted on a bulkhead or the de ck.
22 1.5 Motion Sensor MS-100 (option ) The MS-100 measures ship’ s pitching and rolling angles with sensor using the principles of the gyroscope. The MS-100 is free from error caused by ship’ s vertical and horizontal motion. Therefore, it can be installed at any convenient lo cation.
