® • Plug the charger into a standard w all outlet. Note: If power flo w to the wall outlet is controlled b y a s witch, make sure the s witch is “ON”. • Before fir st-time use, charge the battery for at least 18 hours. Ne ver charge the battery longer than 30 hours.
9 Assembl y F • P osition the vehicle body on its side. • Fit the straight end of the steering column up through the square opening in the v ehicle body and out through the large round hole in the dash. Make sure the steer- ing column is positioned between the guides on the underside of the vehic le body .
10 Assembl y 7 • Using saf ety scissors, separate the activity panel and the instrument panel. Dispose of the plastic connector . • Apply labels 20 and 26 to the radio dial.
11 Assembl y • Rotate the top of the windshield tow ard the front of the vehicle body . • Inser t four #8 x 1" scre ws through the holes in the hinge on the windshield and into the v ehicle body . • Tighten the screws with a Phillips scre wdriver .
12 Assembl y • Align the tips of the screws with the holes in the other spor t bar cov er marked RON. Fit the two spor t bar cov ers together . • Tighten the screws with a Phillips scre wdriver . Do not ov er-tighten. Spor t Bar Cov er (RON) Screw Tips Spor t Bar 19 Hood Grille • Lift the hood.
13 Assembl y • F ace the back of the v ehicle. • With the gas cap tether pointing down, insert and “ snap ” the gas cap assembly into the square opening in the rear of the v ehicle.
14 Assembl y • T ur n the vehicle on its side . • Fit a traction band around a wheel. • Slide a slotted screwdriv er under the traction band to push the traction band onto the ridge in the center of the wheel. Hint: If the traction band is difficult to fit around the wheel, you ma y want to soak it in warm water to soften it slightly .

17 Battery Care and Disposal I If a battery leak develops, av oid contact with the leaking acid and place the damaged batter y in a plastic bag. See inf ormation below for proper disposal. If acid comes in contact with skin or ey es, flush with cool water f or at least 15 min utes and call a physician.
