13 Installation instructions Impor tant! DO NO T use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality . W ARNING – connect to potable water supply only . DO NO T install on line pressure above 827 kP a (119 psi) or below 150 kPa (22 psi).

15 Installation instructions 11 Attach double sided foam t o the back of the water filter head as shown in Diagram 5. Write the date to be replac ed on the filter (date installed +6 months). Remove double sided foam backing and attach filter to the desir ed position as located in step 10 (ref er to previous page).

Ensure white 6 mm (¼”) tubing is routed aw ay from sharp objects, sharp corners (beware of kinking tube as this will stop water flow), clear of the refriger ator unit compartment and not in a location where it can be squ ashed.

Installation (all models) Y our F isher & Pa ykel ActiveSmart™ refrigerator is fitted with front and r ear rollers, designed for moving the pr oduct in the for wards and backwards direction. Av oid moving the product in a sideways direction as this may damage the rollers or the floor covering/surface.
19 Installation instructions 9. What to do if your product is unstable A Gently push the refrigerator back until the r ear rollers contact the floor . Measure the gap under the front f oot, which has come off the floor . Obtain some solid packing material (hardwood, plastic,etc) which fits firmly into the gap under the foot.
20 Installation instructions Before placing f ood in the fresh food or freez er compartments Remove all internal packaging. Ensur e that all transit clips are remo ved from the refrigerat or . These are small rubber stoppers locat ed at the back of the shelves.
21 Moving or storing y our appliance If your refrigerator is turned off f or any reason, wait 10 minutes bef ore turning it back on. This will allow the refrigeration sy stem pressures to equalise bef ore restarting. Moving your r efrigerator T urn off the appliance and unplug from the power point.
22 Door con version ActiveSmart ™ refrigerator models with silver handles need to be or dered at the point of purchase either with left or right opening doors and can not be interchanged. All other models need to have an appr opriate conv ersion kit for that model refrigerator .

24 ActiveSmart™ operating instructions Fr esh food compartment (all models) The fresh f ood compartment light will automatically be illuminated. The temperatur e for this compartment will show as a series of lights. The temperatur e may be altered by pr essing the or buttons.
25 ActiveSmart™ operating instructions Key Mute (all models) KEY MUTE allows you to silenc e all button presses. T o activate KEY MUTE and silence buttons, pr ess and hold the button f or 4 seconds. The icon on the internal contr ol panel will be illuminated.

28 Using y our wat er dispenser (Ice & W ater models only) Dispensing Y our water dispenser has been desig ned for one-handed operation. T o dispense water push the dispensing pad gently , using a glass or container . This pad requires only a gen tle press to activate.
29 W ater filter (Ic e & W ater models only) All the water to y our refrigerator is filter ed to remove impurities thr ough a filter cartr idge located in a position of your choice outside the refrigera tor . T his will need changing approximat ely every 6months.
30 W ater filter (Ic e & W ater models only) T o r eset the filter indicator Impor tant! W e recommend the wat er filter to be used from the time of installation. Do not reset indicator before filter is changed or filter monitoring will be inac curate.
31 Using y our ice maker (Ic e & W ater models only) Ice On/Off Y our ice maker is designed to aut omatically dispense ice until it senses that the bin is full. So the more ice y ou use, the more it makes. It is even clever enough to sense when ther e is no bin in place to catch the ic e and it will not dispense any ice.
32 Using y our ice maker (Ic e & W ater models only) Information about y our ice maker Y our automatic ice maker will pr oduce approxima tely eight cubes of ice every 3 – 4 hours, depending on the freezer compartment temperatur e and the number of door openings.
33 ActiveSmart™ special features (all models) Fruit and v egetable bins and humidit y contr ol lid The fruit and vegetable bins f eature a unique lid which provides two functions: The humidity lid seals the bins and provides a humid microclima te to extend storage times of fruit and vegetables.
34 ActiveSmart™ special features (all models) Slim storage dr awer (wher e fitted) The slim bins at the bottom of the fresh f ood compartment provide storage space f or items that you may want t o keep separate from the r est of the refrigerator . These slim storage bins can be used for deli item storage , beverages or for defr osting foods.

36 Cleaning and caring for y our refrigerator Exterior (all models) Stainless exterior doors It is impor tant when cleaning the exterior door surface of your refrigerat or , to only use liquid dishwashing detergent dissolved in warm water and a soft cloth.

38 Cleaning and caring for y our refrigerator Humidity Control S ystem Impor tant! When cleaning the shelf above the vegetable bins, we recommend that y ou do not disassemble the Humidity Control System from the shelf .
39 Cleaning and caring for y our refrigerator T o r emove tr ays or fix ed bins F or ease of removal, empty food fr om tray/bin first. Hold the centre fr ont of the tray/bin handle. Lift vertically to unclip from the runners and pull tray/bin tow ards you to remo ve.
40 Storing f ood in your r efrigerat or Y our refrigerat or helps to extend the storage times of fresh perishable foods . The cold temperature slo ws down the major causes of food spoilage – namely , the growth of bacteria, moulds and yeasts, and an y chemical and physical reactions.
41 Storing f ood in your r efrigerat or Red meat Place fresh r ed meat on a plate and loosely cov er with waxed paper , plastic wrap or foil . Store cooked and r aw meat on separate plat es. This will prevent any juices lost from the ra w meat contaminating the cooked product.
42 Storing f ood in your fr eezer The use of temperatur es of -18°C (0°F) or colder to store f ood means that the food can be kept for longer periods than when refrigeration t emperatures are used .
43 Storing f ood in your fr eezer Meat, poultry and game Do not tr y to fr eeze more than 1 kg (2.2 lb) meat per 25 L (0.9 cu.ft) of freezer stor age volume at any one time . Meat must be frozen quickly in order to maintain its te xture. Do not stuff poultr y bef ore freezing.
44 ActiveSmart™ user warnings and sounds User warnings F aults In the unlikely event a fault occurs the icon will illuminate on the internal c ontrol panel and an alarm will sound when the fresh food compartment door is opened. Please count the number of beeps made when the fresh f ood compartment door is opened.
