4 Safety and warnings When moving your appliance aw ay from the wall, be careful not to roll ov er or damage the power cord . Unplug your refrigerator or freezer before cleaning or replacing the lightbulb . Storing food and drinks Never store volatile or flammable materials in your refriger ator or freezer as they may explode.

6 Installation instructions Installation instructions: 1 Ensure that refrigerator is not plugged int o a power supply . 2 Locate isolation tap for water c onnection – cold water feed only (dishwasher or sink mixer taps) – if y ou can ’t find the connection tap, contact an authorised plumber in your state or town to fit your wat er connection.
7 Installation instructions 11 Attach double sided foam to the back of the wat er filter head as shown in Diagram 5. Write the date to be replaced on the filter (date installed + 6 months). Remove double sided f oam backing and attach filter to the desired position as located in step 10 (ref er to previous page).

11 Installation instructions 3. Ventilation and installa tion T o ensure adequate ventilation f or your r efrigerator see recommended cabinetry dimensions below . The appliance is intended to be plac ed against a wall with a free distance not ex ceeding 75 mm.
12 4. Installation Y our F isher & P aykel Active Smart™ refrigerator is fitted with front and rear r ollers, designed f or moving the product in the forwards and backwards direction. Av oid moving the product in a sideways dir ection as this may damage the rollers or the floor co vering/ sur face.
13 Installation instructions 6. What to do if your product is unstable E Gently push the refrigerator back until the rear r ollers contact floor . Measure the gap under the front foot, which has c ome off the floor . Obtain some solid packing material (hardwood, plastic etc) which fits firmly into the gap under the foot.

15 Befor e you start using your Ice & W ater refrigera tor Check refrigerator is switched on and has cooled f or at least 2 hours (ref er to page 23 – The temperature of your r efrigerator and freezer) bef ore use . Check that the water filter has been connected and turned on.
16 All about the display The display screen enables y ou to view and modify all the featur es and options on your fridge . F or example, you can change the t emperature in your fridge or fr eezer , and select the Freezer Chill function when you want to quickly freeze meat.
17 All about the display Display fea tures 4. Measured F ill (see page 21) A pre-measured volume of water can be selected and dispensed automatically .
18 Using y our wa ter dispenser Dispensing pad Y our water dispenser has been designed for one handed operation. Simply push y our glass up against the dispenser pad found at the back of the dispenser area. This pad requires only a gentle press to activate.
19 Using y our ice mak er Ice maker Y our ice maker is designed to aut omatically dispense ice until it senses that the bin is fill. So the more ice y ou use, the more it makes. It is even clever enough to sense when ther e is no bin in place to catch the ice .
20 Information about y our ice maker Y our automatic ice maker will pr oduce appro ximately eight cubes of ice every 2 – 3 hours, depending on freezer compartment temperature and number of door openings. The ice cube tray will fill with water after the fr eezer has reached the corr ect temperature.
21 Measured F ill One useful feature of y our water dispenser is it’ s ability to dispense a pre -measured amount of water . This comes in handy when cooking or preparing drinks. Press the button to highlight the screen and again to cycle through the preset quantities.
22 Fr eezer Chill W e have cr eated the F reezer Chill f eature to help y ou to get the best possible results when freezing fresh f ood. F reezer Chill boosts fr eezing speed, which helps to ensur e that vital freshness, te xture and taste are retained during the fr eezing process .
23 Bottle Chill contd... Impor tant! Do not leave the bottle inside the freezer longer than the time needed for chilling. T o deactivate Bottle Chill manually , use the button to scroll to the screen, then use the and buttons until there is no icon in the screen.
24 Settings W ater unit c onv ersion Y ou can change the units your refrigerat or uses between US and metric units. T o change the units press the button to scroll t o the screen option and press one of the or buttons until the desired units are displa yed.
25 Settings Once in Sabbath Mode: The interior light will not turn on when the refrigerator is opened . The door alarm will not operate. The display will not be illuminated . Electronic control panel will not work. Note: If power is turned off the refrigerator will aut omatically continue in Sabbath Mode once power is rest ored.
26 Fruit and v egetable bins and humidit y control co ver The fruit and vegetable bins f eature a unique cov er which provides two functions: The humidity cover seals the bins and pr ovides a humid microclimate to extend storage times of fruits and vegetables.
27 Slim storage dra wer (wher e fitted) The bins at the bottom of the refrigerator pr ovide storage space for it ems that you may want to keep separate from the rest of the r efrigerator . These slim storage bins can be used for deli item st orage, beverages or defrosting f oods.
28 All the water to your fridge is filter ed to remo ve impurities through a cartridge located in a position of your choice outside the refrigerat or . O f course, this will need changing approximat ely every 6 months or up to 2800 L (740 gallons) depending on the quality of the incoming water and how much you use the dispenser .
29 T o reset the filter indicator Impor tant! W e recommend the w ater filter is used from installation. Do not reset monitor before filter is changed or filter monitoring will be inaccurate. Press and hold and buttons for 4 sec onds to reset the filter indicat or .
30 Measured F ill Calibr ation The accuracy of your Measured F ill function can be affected by variations in the incoming water pressure . The Measured Fill Calibration Mode allows y ou to fine-tune the amount of water dispensed from the preselected volumes on y our cabinet.
31 Replacement of the int erior light (Halogen light bulb) T urn the power off at the wall socket before replacing the bulb . The light bulb is locat ed on the top roof of the cabinet at the front. Remove the lens co ver using a small screw driver . Inser t the screwdriver in the fr ont centre of the lens cover and gently lev er down.
32 Exterior Stainless exterior doors (Iridium or EZKleen finishes) It is impor tant when cleaning the exterior door sur face of your refrigerator , to only use liquid dishwashing detergent dissolv ed in warm water . Dry the door with a clean, lint free cloth.
33 Interior It is impor tant to keep the interior of the refrigerator and freez er clean to help prevent f ood from becoming contaminated during st orage. The amount and types of food stored det ermines how often cleaning should be carried out (ideally once every 1 to 2 weeks) in the refrigerator .
34 Humidity Control S ystem Impor tant! When cleaning the shelf above the vegetable bins , we recommend that you do not disassemble the Humidity Control System from the shelf . In the event that the plastic lid and humidity slides become separated from the glass shelf , follow these instructions to reassemble.
35 T o remove tra ys or fix ed bins F or ease of removal , empty food from tray/bin first. Hold the centre front of the tra y/bin handle. Lift vertically to unclip from the runners and pull tray/bin towar ds you to remo ve. Push both runners back into r efrigerator .
36 Normal refrigera tor sounds Active Smart™ refrigerators, with their exc ellent energy ratings and cooling performance, can produce sounds somewhat differ ent to your old r efrigerator . Normal operational sounds include: F an air flow sound. Active Smart™ refrigerators have fans which change speed depending on demand.
37 Storing food in y our refrigerat or Red meat Place fresh red meat on a plat e and loosely cover with wax ed paper or plastic wrap or foil. Store cooked and raw meat on separat e plates. This will prevent an y juices lost from the raw meat fr om contaminating the cooked product.
38 Storing food in y our freezer The use of temperatures of -18˚C or colder t o store f ood means that the food can be kept f or longer periods than when refrigeration temperatures ar e used.
39 Storing food in y our freezer Meat, poultry and game Do not try to freeze more than 1 kg meat per 25 L freezer capacity . Meat must be frozen quickly in order to maintain its texture . Do not stuff poultry before freezing. Red meat can be cooked from fro zen, or from the partly or completely thawed states .
