6 THE CONCRE TE P AD The standard GS4000 is designed to operate a single leaf gate. The control box an d mechanical units are se parate devices. It is nec essary to find a s uitable locati on to moun t the control b ox, i.

8 ELECTRIC A L POWE R REQU I REMENTS The GS 4000 can be ordered f or 115 V olts AC (VAC ) or 230 V A C opera tion. The AWG wire size for the elec trical service de pends on the dista nce of the operato r from the break er panel. Refe r to Table 1 to determine the corre ct wire size.
9 TOOLS REQUIRED The following tools and m aterials are require d f or a proper in st allation of the GS4000. 1. Wire cutter, stripper and cri mping tools. (For attaching accessory equipm ent to the control box barrier strip.) 2. A #2 Phillip s Head screw driver for removi ng the screws to the High Voltage cover.

11 INSTALLING THE GS4000 CONTROL BOX The GS 4000 CONTROL B OX m ay be moun ted remotely from the MECHAN ICAL UNIT. Two mounting holes are provided on each flange of the CONTROL BOX (four total). These should be use d to mount the CONTROL B OX to a solid, flat surface.

16 WIRING A K EYP A D, CARD READER OR TEL EPHON E ENTRY SYSTEM These device s activ ate the GS 4000 by a relay contact closure within t he device. Ty pically, these devices wi l l be used to o pen a gate with th e Timer- To-Close feat ure automatica lly c losing the gate.

18 # NA M E DESCRIPTION 7 CLOSE Momentar y or continuous signal. On/ Off mode set by Switch #1 WITH SW ITCH 1 OFF : Once activated the gate will close full y. Activation while the gate is opening has no effect . Continuous s ignal required to move the gate when in the alarm mode.
19 SETTI NG THE LIM IT SWITCHES With the co ver removed from the GS4000 MECHANICAL UNIT, and the arm connecte d to the gate as well as to the GS4000 Operat or, positio n the gate at it s FULLY CLOSED positio n. Ide ntify the lower Limit Sw itch. L oosen the clam ping nut o n the Limit S witch Cam for the lower L imit Switch.
20 TIMER T O CLOSE SETTING The Tim er to Close is cont rolled b y the setting of th e “AUTO CLOSE TIME R” pote ntiom eter on the con trol board, see Figure 23.
21 3. Connect to Termi nal #17, Close Limit S witch: Close Limit Switch l ight is ON . 4. C onnect to Termina l #18, Ope n Limit Switch : Open Limit Switch l ight is ON . 5. Conn ect to Term inal #4, Radi o Open.: Radi o Open light is ON, Motor O pen ligh t is ON.
22 PRE RUNNING CHECKLIST Before running t he GS4000, make sure: 1. The prop er Left- or Right-han d or Bi- Parting wi ring ha s bee n completed (if applicable). 2. The Limi t Switch Cams hav e been preliminarily set. 3. The O verload Se nsitivity has been preset.
23 FINA L SETTING OF THE MOTOR OVERL OAD SENSITI VITY The motor overl oad sensitiv ity was preset f o r eac h directi on before turni ng on the main pow er to pre vent the oper ator fro m "self- tripp ing" dur ing the prel iminary adjustment per iod.

28 Manufacturer’s Lim i ted Warrant y Allstar warrants its gate ope rat ors to be free from defect in materia l and workmanship for a perio d of five (5) ye ars from the date of purc hase for single family home use and three (3) y ears fro m the date of purchase for multi-family and commercial use.
