8 Printing From Start to Finish 3. Make sure the front tray is in the p aper (lower) positio n. If it is not, push the tray lever up to repositi on the fron t tray . Caution: Before yo u move the tray l ever, mak e sure no paper or other obj ects a re on the front tray and the fro nt tray is not ex tended.
Loading Paper 9 5. Slide the left edge guide against the p aper (but not to o tightly). F ollow these guidelines when load ing paper : ■ Leave enough spac e in fron t of the pr inter for th e paper to be fully ej ected. ■ Don ’ t load paper ab ove the arrow mark on the left edge guide.

Printing on CDs and DVDs 29 3. Gently insert the CD /DVD tray along the base of the front tray until the marks on the CD/DVD tray and the front tray match each other . Caution: Make s ure both s ides of the CD/DVD tray sl ide undern eath th e bracke ts on th e front tray.

34 Printing From Start to Finish Adjusting the Print Density If i nk smear s on your p rinte d CDs or DVDs, you may need to adjus t the color satura tion or ink d ensity . CD s and DVDs from di fferent m anuf acturers may absorb i nk diff erently , so you may need to ad just the d ensity fo r eac h type of disc .

36 Printing From Start to Finish 6. T o curve a single line of text, clic k th e text in the main w indow and drag the red “handle ” up o r down. Then adjust it using the other handles that appear . 7. When you ’ re f inished, c hoose Save as from the F ile menu to sav e your file.
Printing on CDs and DVDs 37 Adjusting the Print Position If your printed images and text are not centered or positione d the way you want, you may need to adjust the printing posi tion. Y ou can also use these steps to check the position before you pr int on a CD or DVD.

Click Va lue En try , then input the T o p distance (fro m your measurement) in the T op S pace box. Enter the Right di stance (from your measurement) in the Right S pace box.
Direct Printing from a Digital Camera or Mobile Phone 39 If you would like to adjust the color , open the File menu, sele ct Print , and make the Co lor Corr ecti on setting lighter or darker as nec essary .

U se your camera or phone to s elect the photos you want to print, adjust any necessary sett ings, and print your ph otos.
Maintaining Your Prin ter 41 Maintaining Your Printer Cleaning th e Print Head If your printouts are unexpectedly light or dots or lines are missing, you may need to clean the prin t head. This unclogs the nozz les so they can d eliver ink prop erly .

When t he r ed H ink light stays on, you need to replace the ca rtridge (s). When you print, you ’ll also see a messag e on your screen telling you whi ch cartri dge is low or expe nded.

50 Maintaining Your Print er 8. Remo ve the yello w tape from the bottom of the ink c artridge . Caution: Y ou mus t remove the yellow tape from the cartrid ge befo re you install it; otherwis e, prin t quality may decline o r you m ay not be able to p rint.
Aligning the Print Head 51 10. If you need to replace another ink cartridge, r epeat steps 6 through 9 b efore continuing with step 11. 11. Clo se the car tri dge cover . 12. Close th e printer cover and press the H ink butto n. The printer begins charging t he ink de live ry system.

Caution: When sto ring or t ranspo rting the pr inter , do not tilt i t, stan d it up vertical ly , or turn it upside down.

If yo u’ re p ri n t i n g a high-resolutio n image, you need mor e than the minimum req uirements listed. Y ou may also need to: ■ Clear sp ace on your hard drive or run a defragme ntation ut ility .
