1 Setting Up the Printer 1-3 You must remove all prot ective mater ials packed ar ound and ins ide yo ur pri nter before y ou set it up and turn on th e powe r. Follow the di rectio ns on the Notic e Sheet (packed with the prin ter) to rem ove the se ma terial s.

1 Setting Up the Printer 1-13 Running the Self Test Use the built -in se lf test func tion to check tha t the print er is working pr operly. Y ou can run the test wit h either continuous paper or singl e sheets. The procedure b elow describes t he test using single sheets, which i s the easier wa y.

Then slide the ri ght spro cket unit to match the wid th of your paper, but do not lock it. Move th e paper s upport midway between the t wo sprocket u nits.

2-22 Using t he Pr inter Adjusting the top-of -form positi on The top-of-fo rm position is the positi on on the page where the printer starts p rinting. I f your p rinting a ppears t oo high or l ow on the page, you can use the mic ro adjust fea ture to adju st the top- of-form posi tion.
