Important Safety Instructions 5 • Please make old appliances unusable prior to disposal. Pull out the mains plug, cut off the mains cable, break or r emove spring or bolt catches, if fitted.
6 • Under no circumstances should you attempt to r epair the appliance yourself. Repair s carried out by inexperienced persons may cause injury or serious malfunctioning.
7 Remove tr ansport packaging The appliance and the interior fittings are pr otected for transport. ☞ 1. Pull off the adhesive tape on the left and right side of the door . 2. Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces from the interior of the appliance.
Installation 8 It is necessary to avoid overheating of the refriger ator by maintaining adequate distances from heat sour ces and by the use of a suitable thermal insulation plate.

Installation 10 Building the appliance in under a worktop The dimensions of the recessed installation area must corr espond with those indicated in the figure.

Installation 16 Fitting the plinth Important! For the efficient operation of the appliance, it is important that the original ventilation grid is used. • For an opening height dimension A=820 mm and a plinth height dimension a=1 00 mm, the plinth may be fitted without adjustments.

19 Starting up and temper atur e regulation Important! Only use the appliance when built–in! ☞ 1. Connect the appliance to the mains electricity supply . When the refriger ator compartment door is opened, the internal light- ing is switched on. The temperatur e control knob is located on the right hand side of the refriger ator compartment.
20 If this happens, turn the thermostat knob back to a warmer setting (position “3” to “4”). At this setting the compressor will be switched on and off as usual and automatic defrosting r ecommenced. Switching off the appliance To switch off the appliance, turn the temper ature r egulator to position "0".
Interior Accessories 21 V ariable Storage Box Some models are equipped with a variable stor age box which is fitted under a door shelf compartment and can be slid sideways. The variable box can be hung from a stor age shelf in the refriger ator compartment: ☞ 1.
22 Corr ect stor age For physical reasons, ther e are differ ent temperatur e regions in the fridge. The coldest region is on the lowest storage shelf. Warmer r egions are the top storage shelf, the veg- etable drawer and the storage compartments on the door .
23 ☞ 1. All foods must be packed into airtight packages or containers prior to freezing, so that they do not dry out or lose their flavour , and so that no flavour contamination of other frozen goods occur s. Caution! Do not touch frozen food with wet hands.
24 Defr osting The fridge defr osts automatically The rear wall of the fridge cover s with frost when the compr essor is running, and defrosts when the compr essor is off.
25 Cleaning and Car e For hygienic reasons the appliance interior , including interior acces- sories, should be cleaned regularly . Warning! • The appliance must not be connected to the mains during cleaning.
26 Ener gy Saving Tips • Do not install the appliance near boilers, r adiators or other sour ces of heat. High ambient temperatur es cause longer , more fr equent operation of the compr essor . • Ensure sufficient air cir culation and exhaust at the appliance base and at the back wall of the appliance.
27 What to do if ... Corr ecting Malfunctions A malfunction may be caused by only a minor fault that you can rectify yourself using the following instructions. Do not perform any other work on the appliance if the following information does not provide assistance in your specific case.
28 Changing the L ight B ulb Warning! Ther e is a risk of electric shocks! Before changing the light bulb , switch off the appliance and unplug it, or disconnect from the power supply . Light bulb data: 220-240 V, max. 15 W ☞ 1. To switch off the appliance, turn the thermostat knob to position "0".
