9 2 Envir onmental pr otection tips • Y our laundry will become light and soft in the laundry dryer even without a s oft rinsing agent. • Loosen your laundry before loading it into the dryer . This helps to pr event lengthy running times and creasing.

14 Brief oper ating instructions • E nsur e the laundry is well spun before tumble drying. • Prepar e the laundry . • O pen the door and load the laundry . • S hut the door . Attention! Do not catch washing in the door . • S elect the drying pr ogramme on the pr ogramme selector .

Press the S PE C I A L C A RE b ut t o n fo r fabrics bearing the car e symbol S . Gentle drying is advisa- ble for heat-sensitive fabrics (such as acrylic and viscose).

Drying 18 Clean the fluff filter T o ensure efficient oper ation of the tumble dryer , clean the fluff filter after each drying pr ogramme. Also check whether there ar e any re mnants or fluff fr om the washing in the drum; r emove immediately . 0 Pr ess the catch of the filter lid down- wards.

21 A small glossary of textile information Car e symbols Ensure articles to be dried ar e suit able for tumble drying. If they ar e one of the following symbols should be present on the car e label: R Normal drying S Drying with spec ial car e (pr ess the SPECI AL CARE button!) Q This fabric can be tumble dried.
22 Cleaning and maintenance Cleaning the filter ar ea 1 Important! When the CLEAN FIL TER displa y lights, it is essential to clean the fluff filter . Otherwise your dryer might suffer damage. A small amount of fluff may reach the ar ea around the filter in spite of the fluff filter .
Cleaning and maintenance 23 Cleaning the drum 1 Wa rn i n g ! Do not clean the stainless st eel drum with abr asive deter- gents or steel wool! F abric softeners or lime in the wate r can cause a scar cely visible deposit to form on the drum. The dryer is then no longer r eliably able to r ecognise how dry the washing is.
24 What to do if ... If the tumble dryer is not working co rrectly please carry out the follow- ing checks befor e calling out an engineer . Symptom P ossible cau se Solution The tumble dryer will not.

33 Door Reversal Instructions Reversal Instructions The door opening dir ection can be changed if requir ed. 1 Wa r n in g ! Befor e rever sing the door , isolate the appliance from the mains supply . Pr oceed as follows to rever se the door opening direction: 0 Unscr ew the screws A on the fr ont panel of the appliance.
Door Reversal Instructions 34 0 T ake-out the latched catch covering J and pull-off t he plug. 0 Connect the door catch H and the catch covering J on the respective opposite side to the plug, insert into the hole and scr ew-down or latch into position.
35 Site Pr epar ation • T he installation surface must be clean and dry . • D o not install on a deep pile carpet. • If the appliance is installed next to a heat sour ce (e. g. cooking appliance), a heat insulation pa d (85 x 57 cm) must be placed between the washing machine and the heat source.
36 Ve n t i n g The appliance expels hot, moist air which must be able to flow freely fr om the tumble dryer vent. T umble Dryer V ents The most efficient way of venting the expelled air is via a vent hose through to t he outside.
Venting 37 V enting thr ough a Ve nt Hose The vent hose expelling the hot air should have a 1 00 mm diameter and be no longer than 4 meters. Avoid bends in the vent hose as this will r educe the air flow . The maximum length of the vent hose may be: 4 meters with 0 bends, or 2 meters with 2 bends.
38 V enting without a V ent Hose If a vent hose is not connected to the tumble dr yer , the air can be expelled into the r oom where the a ppliance is located pr oviding the following pr ecautions are observed. • T he vent(s) in use mus t be at leas t 30 cm fr om the wall or any other object.
