Concord 1 Getting to Know Y our Security System This security syst em is designed to protect your family and property , whether you are on the pre- mises or away . This manual describes how to operate your syst em. It describes basic arming and disarming com- mands as well program ming inst ructions for system features.
Concord 2 Environmental Sensors Environmental sensors such as smoke and heat det ectors remain alert fo r th e presence of fire or carbon monoxide 24 hours a day . Phone Interface and V oice Module Y our system may contain a Phone In terface and V oice Module that allows you to use a T ouchtone phone located on- or off-site as a touchpad.
Concord 3 T ouchpads—Y our System Interface There is a broad range of to uchpads that can be used wit h your panel—from a single-but ton panic sensor which sends only panic alarms, to an alphanumeric touchpad that display s text and allows extensive user programming (see Figure 3).
Concord 4 • Exit Delay beeps indicate that an arming co mmand has been entered and the countdown to arming has begun . • Entry Delay beeps indicate that you’ve entered the buildi ng and the countdown to an alarm has begun. (So disarm the system as soon as you get in!) • Chime feature beeps tell you that a door was opened or closed.
Concord 5 Resetting Smoke Detectors Most wireless smoke detectors used with this system automatically reset themselves, after detect- ing smoke. Most hardwired smoke detectors must be manually reset after detecting smoke, before they are able to detect smoke again.
Concord 6 • Always enter and ex it within the p rogrammed delay tim es. • Make sure you leave through a door that has a delay tim e set for it. • Disarm your system immediately upo n retu rning home. • Be aware of the devices in your securi ty system and learn how each one operates.
Concord 7 • Before opening a door or window while inside or outside the home or busin ess. When yo u wake up in the morning and want to get your new spa per, you must disarm the system before opening the door to prev ent an accidental alarm. • T o stop sirens and cancel an alarm.
Concord 8 Quick Exit Note In UL Listed systems, this feature is disabled . Y our system may be set up so that w hen your sy stem i s armed to Level 2—ST A Y , you’re able to press D on any touchpad and simply walk out the door without having to disarm and rearm the system.

When you unlock and enter the designated delay door, the interior sirens and touchpads sound t wo short beeps every two sec- onds.
Concord 10 • When you’re arming your house from the o uts ide. (Y ou must have a wireless touchpad in order to do this.) Arming to Level 2 or 3 with No Delay , using a touchp ad: 1. Close all perimeter doors and windows. 2. Enter 2 + CODE or 3 + CODE .
Concord 11 1. Repeat the above procedure substituting the bypassed sensor number or, 2. Close bypassed doors and/or windows and arm your syst em again. Bypassing a Sensor Indirectly Use this method if you are arming the system and would like to bypass doors and windows already open.
Concord 12 1. From any touchpad press 7 + 7 + output number . If the output was already activated, it will shut off. If the output was off, it will activate. Checking the S tatus of Y our System Checking the system status means findi ng out about the current condition of your system.
Concord 13 Fire Panic Alarm The Fire panic alarm sounds from all interior and exteri or sirens. On monitored systems, the cen- tral monitoring statio n respon ds by calling the fire department. T o activate a Fire panic alarm from a touchpad: 1. Press and hold both Fire button(s) for 2 seconds.
Concord 14 Regular user codes can be changed in User Pr ogramming and are easily deleted from the system when no longer necessary . Programming Access Codes The code you use to enter User Programming dete rmines which features such as codes and code attributes you’ll be able to change.
Concord 15 Note The system will not accept the same code for two dif fer- ent users. Erasing a User Code When a code is delet ed from the system, that code no longer acts as a key for operating the sys- tem in any manner . T o eras e a user cod e: 1.
Concord 16 Assigning the System T est Attribute System T est is a user code attribute that allows th e user to perform system tests. If the user code does not have this attribute turned on, the user w ill no t be able to perform phone or sensor tests.
Concord 17 For example, if the current da te is January 15, 2000, press 01 1500 + # . 4. Press * + 00 + # to exit the programmin g men us. Adjusting System Sounds and T ouchpad Brightness Arming Y our System Silently Use the Silent Arming feature to arm your sy stem w ithout disturbing people throughout th e house with arming status beeps.
Concord 18 Adjusting the T ouchpad Display Brightness Y ou may want to change the brightness of a touchpad display based on its location in a bui lding or room. For example, di m the touchpad d isplay in a bedroom or enhance a display near a win- dow .
Concord 19 In addition to controlling temper ature, the Energy Saver feature notifies the central monitoring station if your heating or air conditioning un it fails—before pipes freeze or pets are harmed by extreme heat or cold.
Concord 20 Pager Messages When an event is reported on a numeric pager , the following information is incl uded: Figure 8. Pager Messages Although all three types of inform ation can be re ported on your pager , your pager service det er- mines how the in formation will actually appear .
Concord 21 Account Number in Page This part of the page let’ s you know wher e (which part ition) the event is occurring. S treamlining the Page Report Y ou can choose to hav e the four account numb er di g its rep orted with every page, or to exclude them.
Concord 22 One Day Rollover Y ou can create a schedule th at begins on one day , and st ops the next day by using only one time schedule. (The stop time must be within 24 hours of the start time.) Concord 26 What Will the Pager Report? For Latchkey Opening Reports, the page reports th e arming level (11 1 for 1—OFF) and the user . For Latchkey Closin g Reports, the page reports the arming level as 222 (2—ST A Y) or 333 (3— A W A Y), and the user that armed to that level.

Concord 28 What Will the Pager Report? Exception Opening Reports report the arming level as 11 1 (1—OFF) and the user that disarmed the system. Exception Closing Reports report the arming level as 222 (2—ST A Y) or 333 (3—A W A Y), and the user that armed to that leve l.
Concord 29 Note Before allowing any down- load sessions, the sys tem must be disarmed to level 1—OFF . T o enable/disable the Panel Dow n load setting: 1. Enter the programming menus by pressing 9 + System or Partition Master CODE . 2. Press 040 .
Concord 30 3. Proceed to arm, disarm, or pr ogram as needed. The partition assignment reverts back if no keys are entered for 10 seconds. Arming and Disarming the Other Partition Once in the other partition , you need to use a code that is valid in that partitio n to arm, disarm or program that partition.

Concord 33 Source information is shown in th e following table. Using a T ouchtone Phone to Operate Y our System Y our system may be equipped w ith a Phone Interface and V oice Mo dule that allows system oper- ation from a T ouchtone phone on or off the premises.
Concord 34 Accessing the System from Off-site T o access the system from off-site, the system needs to recognize two things about the call: • The panel needs to recognize that it should answer the phone. • The panel needs to recognize that the code entered has the authority to operate the system from off-site.
Concord 35 Sending a Police Panic Alarm Y our system can be set up so that you can send a Police panic alarm from a T ouchtone phone. If your system is set up to send a Police panic alarm: •U s e t h e * , regardless of your phone command key . • Do not wait more than two seconds be tween key presses.
Concord 36 How do I perform other phone operations with out commanding my security syst em? Y ou can u se your phone for transactions such as b anking from home by temporaril y disengaging phone control to y our security system. The foll owing procedure will work for one call at a time.
Concord 37 3. Disarm to Level 1 to exit T est Mode. Phone Communication T est The purpose of this weekly test is to verify that the connection between the central monitoring station and your system are working properly . Most phone tests take only a few minutes, however , your sy st em will try for up to 15 minutes to establish a connection.
Concord 38 T esting Sirens The purpose of this weekly t est is to verify that the panel is activating sirens with the appropriate warning sounds. T o perform an alarm siren warning so un d tes t: 1. Contact the central monitoring stati on to inform them that you will be activ atin g alarms and they should not dispatch authorities .
Concord 39 • Y our access code has not been assigned the dir ect bypassing at tribute. See “Assigning the Direct Bypassing Attribute”. Q. I can’ t arm my system to Level 3—AW A Y . A. If a delay door is open while you’re tryi ng to arm the system to Level 3, the system will arm to Level 2 instead.
Concord 40 SENSOR XX LOW BA TTERY A sensor has a low battery . 1. Disarm the system. 2. Remove the sensor cover . If the battery is an Alkaline AA or AAA, change the ba ttery . If the battery is any other type, ca ll your security dealer for service. SENSOR XX T AMPER A sensor cover is off or open.

Concord 45 Accidental Smoke and Fire Alarms T o silence the alarms and re set the sensor: 1. Press 1 + CODE , once to silence the alarm. 2. Press 1 + CODE , again to reset the smoke alarm. Smoke and fire panic alarms can not be cancelled and are always reported to the cen tral station.
Concord 46 System Features If the Power Goes Out Y our system has a backup battery that keeps y our system operational during a power failure. An optional feature allows your system to alert the central mo nito ri ng station if the power is off for more than 15 minutes.
