20 Opening the Ap pliance in an Emergency In the even t of a power failure, the door can be opened using the mechan ical releas e , activated by means of the lever in the bottom of the applian ce: 1 Turn the “Program Se lec tor” k nob to “ Off ” and disconnect the power su pply plu g from the soc ket.

24 Care and Mai ntenanc e Before beginning any care or mainte nance, you should always disconnect the appliance from th e electr icity supply, and also turn o ff the water s upply. If a prog ramme has been run recently , wait for th e water in the applian ce to cool down to pr event risk of scalding.
25 Cleaning the Door Seal Check regul arly that there are no paper cl ips, buttons, na ils or pin s in the folds of the door gasket. Cleaning the Drain Pump The drain pump only needs cleaning if the water is not being pumped out eff iciently. Th is may hap pen if it has been blocke d by buttons, br ooches or similar objects.
26 • Clean the pump and remove any foreign bodies. • Also che ck the inside “E”, making s ure th at the impe ller turns freel y; any forei gn bod ies stuck in it must be removed. • Screw the cover back on the pump. • Secure the drain house by snapping the plug back into place "C ".
27 Water in t ake filters There are filters on the tap side o f the water i nlet hose a nd at the ends of th e water inl et valves . These filters prevent in gress of di rt or foreign objects into the machine through the water supply.
28 Tomato Paste: After scraping the dried pieces without ruining the cloth, leave in cold wate r for about 30 minutes and wash by rubbing with detergent. Meat/So up/Egg: Eliminat e the dri ed stain r esidues and w ipe with a sponge or soft cloth dampened with cold water.
29 Burnt St ain: If you r cloth is suit able for use of washing soda, you can add it into your washing wat er. For woollens, a cloth dampe d in oxygenated wat er should be covered on the stain and it should be ironed with a dry cloth on it. It should be washed after rinsing well.

31 Install atio n Transit bo lts a nd plast ic spacers , located at the rear of the appliance, must be rem oved prior to using the applia nce to prevent d amage. • L oosen the transit bolt s using a 10mm spanner by turning them anticlockwise and then r emove them.
32 Leveling 1. On ap pliances with adjustable rear f eet, note tha t the r ear of the a ppliance (as supplied ) re sts on s kids and not on the feet. 2. Before positioning the washing machine , check that the rear feet are screwed fully i n , to prevent damage as the applian ce is shif ted into p osition.
33 Conn ecting to the M ains Water Supply 1. Check that the wa ter su pply pressure i s in the r ange: 0.1 - 1. 0MPa. With h igher pre ssures, use a pressure reducer. 2. Connect the cold wat er supply hose (blue screw collar) to the cold water tap with ¾ ” gas threaded connector, tak ing care to tig hten firmly to preven t leaks.
34 • After conn ecting the water suppl y, check to e nsure there are no l eaks. The dra in hose mus t be securely f astened t o the outl et to preve nt any risk of the dr ain hose becomin g detac hed and causing floodin g.
35 Importa nt: Do not use the appliance without the fuse co ver in posit ion. How to C onnect an Alternative P lug If the fitted plug i s not su itabl e for you r socke t outl et, then it should be cut off and disposed of safely to prevent the risk of elect ric shock.
