7 XJ-H1650/XJ-H1750/XJ -H2650/XJ-ST 145/XJ-ST155 z Projection of Data from U SB Memory or a Memory Card witho ut a Computer * 1 : USB memory or a memory card (using a commercia lly available USB card rea der) can be connected directly to the projec tor’s USB-A port.
8 Operations in this manual ar e presented based on th e re mote controller that comes with the proj ector. Major operation ke ys are also provi ded on the projector uni t, so the most of the same pr ocedures can also be perfor med directly on the projector.

10 Important! Be sure to use al ka line batteries only. Replacing Remote Controller Batteries Open the battery co ver on the back of the remote controller, replace the o ld batteries with new ones, and then close the battery cover .
11 z Use a conveniently loca ted power outlet that you can reac h easily when you need to unplug the projector. z Do not allow any objects to be within the area indica ted by the dashed line below, which is an area within 30cm (11 .8 inches) of the projec tor.
12 Connecting to an Image Output Device Connect the projector’s COMPUTER IN 1 or C OMPUT ER IN 2 terminal to th e RGB te rminal of a computer as shown in the illustr ation below. Important! z Always turn off the pro jector and the computer before connecting them .
13 The projector supports proj ection and output of HDMI video an d audio output from a computer or video device. Important! Turn off the proj ector and the computer or video devi ce before connecting them.
14 The projector is abl e to project imag es from the composite video ou tput, S-video output, or component video output of a connected video device . Important! Always turn off the projector and the vi deo device before connecting them.
15 Connection to a com ponent video output z Component video output terminals co me in 3-terminal sets: Y·Cb·Cr or Y ·Pb·Pr. Be sure to match the colors of the plugs on a comp onent video ca ble with the colo rs of the terminals (Green: Y; Blue: Cb/Pb; Red: Cr/Pr).
16 Operation During Projection Turning on the projector initially causes the same i n put source that was select ed the last time it was turned off to be selected. To select a different input source 1. Press the [INPUT] key. z This displays the input sour ce selection screen.
17 3D Input Mode Your projector supports projection of 3D imag es. To project a 3D image, f irst enter the projector’s 3D input mode, and then select the input source. Important! z Separately available 3D glasses (YA-G30) are required in orde r to view a projected 3D image in 3D.
18 Returning to the Normal Input Mode from the 3D Inpu t Mode 1. Press the [INPUT] key to display the input source selection screen. 2. Use the [ T ] and [ S ] keys to move the h ighlighting to “To normal input mode” and then press the [ENTER] key.

20 Selecting the Color Mode You can select fr om among various dif ferent color mode s ettings in accor dance with image conte nts and projection conditions.
21 Momentarily Blanking the Im age and Muting the Audio 1. Press the [BLANK] key. z This temporar ily blanks the i mage (proje cting a black screen) and mutes the audio.
22 Displaying a Pointer in the Projected Image You can select from among different pointer styles, including vario us arrow styles, for dis play in the projected imag e. Pointers can be u sed during a presenta tion to indicate or hig hlight a specific pa rt of the image.
23 Changing the Aspect Rati o of the Projected Image Press the [AS PECT] key to cycl e through the aspect ratio se ttings for the projected image. Available s ettings depend on your projector model as shown below. For details about the meaning of each setting, see “Aspec t Ratio” (page 41) under “Screen Settings Main Menu”.
24 You can use the re mote controller ke ys to adjust the volume level of the a udio that is output from the projector’s speaker or the AUDIO OUT terminal. To adjust the volume level 1. Press the [VOLUME] key. z This causes the [Vo lume] screen to appear on the projected im age.
25 The following three E co Mode settings are avail able to specify whether pr iority should be given to low-power, low-noise opera tion or to projectio n brightness. Important! z While “On (Auto)” is selected a s the Eco Mode setting, make sure that the brightness sensor on the top of the projector is not blocked by anything.
26 Note z While “Off” is sele cted for the Eco Mode se tting, you also can sp ecify whether brightness or color should be given emphasis. F or details, se e “Eco Off Mod e” (page 39) under “Im age Adjustment 1 Main Menu”.
27 Configuring Advanced Projector Settings Your projector has a setup menu that you can use to co nfigure advanced settings. Displaying the Setup Menu Pressing the [MENU] key displays the me nu shown below in the center of the projection scr een. To exit the setup menu Press the [MENU] key.
28 Basic Setup Menu Example The procedure below shows how to con figure the followi ng three settings: z Image Adjustment 1 J Contrast z Image Adjustment 1 J Color Mode z Input Settings J Signal Name .
29 To configure the “Image Adjustme nt 1 J Color Mode” setting 5. Use the [ T ] key to select “Color Mode”. 6. Press the [ENTER] key. z This displays the colo r mode menu. 7. Use the [ T ] and [ S ] keys to select the color mode you want, and then press the [ENTER] key.
30 You can capture a projecte d screen and save it as image data in the projector’s buil t-in memory. Image data you save in proj ector memory is c alled a custom logo.
31 Supported Capture Im ages Not all types of projectio n images are support ed. Note the following precauti ons that correspond to each specific input source. To specify a custom logo as the startup screen, no signal screen, or blank screen 1. Press the [MENU] key to display the setup menu.
32 The operations described below can be password protected on the pr ojector. You can have only one password assigned to the pr ojector at any time, and the s ame password is used for o perations.
33 If you forget your password. .. If you forget the password, yo u will need to bring the follow ing two it ems to your CASIO distributor to have the password cleared.
34 8. After entering the new password, press the [ENTER] key. z This will display a dialog box prompting you to ente r the same passw ord again. 9. Re-enter the same password key sequence you entered in step 7 and then press the [ENTER] key. z The message “Your new password has been regi stered.
35 Control panel lock di sables (locks) all of the pro jectors keys, except for the [ P ] (Power) key. Thi s limits projector operation to the remote controlle r, which protects against inadv ertent mis-oper ation. To lock the control panel 1. Press the [MENU] key to display the setup menu.
36 You can use the procedures in this section to restore all of the settings on a pa rticular main menu or all of the settings on the setup menu to their initial factory defaults. To restore all settings on a particular main menu to their initial factory defaults 1.
37 To restore all settings on the setup menu to their initial factory defaults 1. Press the [MENU] key to display the setup menu. 2. Use the [ T ] key to select “Restore All Defaul ts” and then press the [ENTER] key. 3. After confirming that “Restore All Defa ults” sub-menu is selected, press the [ENTER] key.
38 This section contains tables that provide detailed expl anations of all of the items included on the setup menu. The foll owing describes the ty pe of information that appear s in each of the column s of the tables.
39 Color Mode RC VH DU Source Specific You can select from among vario us different color mode set tings in accordance with image contents and project ion conditions. Standard: Use this setting when you want to highlight the colors of your presentation.
40 Image Adjustment 2 Main Menu About the “Signal Specific” Setting Unit For the items that have “Sig nal Spec ific ” in the “Setting Unit” column of the above table, the setting is saved for the specific type of sign al (XGA/60Hz, SXGA/60Hz, etc.

44 Option Settings 1 Main Menu Signal Name Indicator RC VH DU N Single Use this sub-menu to specify whether or not the name of the currently selected signal source sh ould be displayed in the projected image. On * : Select this option to turn on display of the name of the currently selected signal sourc e in the projected im age.
45 Auto Power Off RC VH DU N Single Auto Power Off lets you specif y the amount of time of projector operation and input signal inac tivity to be allowed before Auto Power Off is triggered to turn off projector power automat ically. Auto Power Off can be disabled, if you want.

48 Wired LAN Settings Main Menu (USB Port Models Only ) USB Settings Main Menu (USB Port Models Only) The USB Settings main me nu is available only when ther e is an external devi ce connected to the USB-A port of the proj ector. 50 Cleaning the Projector Periodical ly clean the pr ojector exterior , lens, inta ke vents, and intake -exhaust vents on a regular basis. Important! Before cleaning the projector, be sure to unplug it from the powe r outlet and make sure it is cooled down completely.
51 Troubleshooting Indicators keep you in formed about the current op er ational status of the proj ector. The fol lowing shows what the indicators loo k like when operation is normal.
52 POWER : Amber flashing J Amber steady Power has turn ed off automatic ally due to internal overhea ting. Perform the following steps . 1 Check for any blocking of the project or’s vents, and make su re that there is sufficien t space around the projector .
53 POWER : Amber flashing J Red ste ady The projector was turned off auto matically due to some problem that was probably caused by external digital noise or some other reason.
54 Check the following items wh enever you experie nce any problem with the projector. Projector Troubleshooting Problem Cause and Recommended Action Power does not turn on. z If the POWER/STANDBY indicator is not lit, the AC power cord is not connected correctly.
55 Important! z Try performing the following st eps, which may or may not return the projector to normal operation. z If normal operati on does not resume after you per form the above steps, take the pro jector to your retailer or a uthorized CASIO service center.
56 Appendix When performi ng an operation on the remote controll er, point it at the rem ote control signa l receiver on the back or f ront of the projector .
57 The MONITOR O UT terminal of the pr ojector output s the video signal being input via the COMPUTER IN 1 terminal or COMPUTER I N 2 terminal as-is. Th is makes it po ssible to simultaneo usly output the projection image to anothe r display.
58 The projector can be hung from a ce iling. When doing so, the projecto r should be turned upside down, and secured to the ceiling. Yo u also need to install a safety wir e to ensure that the projector ca nnot fall accidentally. T o attach th e safety wire, remove the sticker on the bottom of the projector and atta ch the wire there.
